Those recycled boxes are amazing @QueenJess. So much better than buying storage too.
Go to bed @Mrs_Salad_DodgerAnd so shall I.

@Brie what lovely quilts! I especially like the picture ones and the vibrant colour ones.@vulpix I've been to a couple of his exhibitions in the American Museum in Bath. The first one was absolutely fabulous with lampshades hanging off the big tree outside, the colours were riotous inside, the second one, not so much..I love the vibrancy of some of his work especially how he manages to make even cabbages look interesting and daring.I don't make quilts, I make throws that are basically scrap bits of fabric sewn over each other. Very messy and not a patch [pun intended] on a proper quilt.Mrs SD, I woulnd't worry so much about bed and wake times, Some people are just not made for early waking...Final push today on clothes to go from the 'I'll fit into that one day' pile...Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi17

Those Lego magazine storage ideas are brilliant @QueenJess. Not sure if you (or anyone else is aware) but you can get a free magazine from the lego website. I think it comes monthly or quarterly, dds get very excited when it lands on the doormat! A lot is advertising but they do have some interesting ideas in there.2025 decluttering: 3,925🌟🥉🌟💐🏅🏅🌟🥈🏅🌟🏅💐💎🌟🏅🏆🌟🏅

Hi all, I have tried to catch up and post a few comments but I have lost the long post again so I will try a few short posts
@SecondStar, you are doing brilliantly, well done
@Mrs SD the glove has not been found yet. I will give it until the weekend and then I will go through the pile myself
@Vulpix good luck with your Mum's house, hugs
On the subject of shoes I bought 2 pairs from a reputable shoe shop in the sale similar to a pair I had which were very comfortable. 5 years later when I took them out of the box they had literally fallen apart, never even got to wear them once. The receipt was still in the bag but of course it had faded and the shoe shop refused to give a refund. I am still wearing the original pair15 -
Hi all, post 2, sorry to be taking over the thread
@weenancyinAmerica I also have treadle envy, I love those machines but I know I have no room for one here.
@bris those quilts are amazing16 -
Hi all, last post I hope
@Vulpix, the quilt is beautiful and I am sure your work is good enough to auction
@EnergyShifter the finale was very good, no spoilers for those who haven't seen it yet
@GrannyKate I hope you feel better soon hugs
@Brie thanks for the tip about the shredder, I will try that when I get to the shredding
@QueenJess brilliant storage boxes
@Keiths_Mum beautiful ocarina but I can't play it
So today I spent most of the morning dealing with union stuff. Honestly if people would just look at the website it would save me a lot of time. After lunch I decided to hoover the stairs and landing. It took 2 x 23mins as it is quite a new carpet and so it hasn't been hoovered that often and there was loads of fluff and I had to hoover the risers as well as the treads to de fluff it
. Also emptied the kitchen bin, the bathroom bin and the lr bin. Then I checked over my coats as I have a funeral on Friday and got sidetracked de bobbling my duffle coat. I won't be wearing it to the funeral as it is red but I think it needs a trip to the cleaners, put on my to do list
I have another coat I can wear
. Tomorrow I have a union meeting and on Thursday I have a telecom engineer coming to switch me onto superfast cable and make sure everything works so I will have to give the lr a hoover, so glad I have sorted a lot of the mess in there
. When I met my ex colleagues yesterday one mentioned she is collecting stuff for a tombola so I am now hunting for things for that which is a bit distracting actually as I am randomly looking around rather than doing it systematically, but there is no rush so might just start a bag for her. I have also told her I will hunt out some craft stuff for school which I will have to get sorted sooner as I am seeing her next week
Busy week ahead, hope I can do it
307 stairs and landing hoovered
308 coat de bobbled, frog
309 kitchen bin emptied
310 lr bin emptied
311 bathroom bin emptied
312 union stuff task
Take care everyone

ETA, thank goodness I didn't lose that postoff to bed now

1. Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks
2. Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ I have an acronym - I.R.I.S. being Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off
3. Implement a new sleep/wake up regime - start going to bed earlier (target before 2:00 a.m.) get up earlier (target by 9:00 a.m.)
4. Deal with daily mail immediately
5. Don’t put it down, put it away
6. If I spot a mini task deal with it immediately e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
7. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
Forgot to mention that the mist, finally cleared about midday - sun came out & we had bright blue skies for the rest of the day. I did find a box to sort - full of birthday & Christmas wrapping paper. I have rerolled all the paper having removed the cardboard inners & created enough space to store the large bag of Yorkshire teabags 🥳 The boxes containing our emergency purchases of a camping stove, gas canisters & a kettle in case of power cuts have been relocated to our bedroom in the spare cubby hole in the wall unit 🥳 So another tidy corner 🙂 I am giving myself a bit of TLC as I have just had a 10 minute session using my shoulder massager 😌 Now I will do a bit of knitting & drink my coffee, as I am pleased with todays progress 🙂 DH got home just after 5:00 p.m. He has had a very severe haircut + eyebrows tidied & ear hairs burnt out 😬 Dinner was 2 for 1 pizza. Wudupa. Watched Stacey tonight - a really enjoyable episode 🙂 80% of stuff out + more brilliant carpentry from Rob 🙂
497 - 499 Kitchen recycling, yet another cardboard box, drinks cans - recycled
500 - 501 Kitchen & office detritus - binned
Florenceem, it might have been a low decluttering day on Monday but you certainly made up for it on Tuesday 🙂 Excellent decluttering 👏
Brie, the quilts all sound wonderful & beautiful 🤩 Good luck tracking down your mum’s award winning quilt🍀 As to the 2 quilts that were made especially for you, everything crossed that they are absolutely fine when you locate them🤞What a kind & generous thing to do Brie - very pleased to hear that the shredder works 😊
bit_by_bit, I am inordinately pleased at tidying 2 corners especially as I can admire one of the tidied areas at the same time as watching TV - direct line of sight 🙂 Pleased to hear that GS3 is on the mend & he is busy trying to exhaust you 😉 Hope you have a lovely visit with vulpix 😊
Good idea Floss 🙂 & thanks for reminding me to oil my shredder 👏
Great work QueenJess tidying & getting washing done 👏 I am very impressed with your craft skills - those storage boxes look marvellous 🤩
EnergyShifter, your work day might not have been so busy but you have certainly been busy decluttering 👏Well done on getting DS to do some decluttering 😉
Soontobeoap, thanks for the heads up about the crafting forum 👏
QueenJess, Excellent work with DS 👏
Well done on coming up with a plan for the rest of the paperwork, Keiths_Mum 🙂 Great decluttering 👏 Where would we be if we all tackled our decluttering in the same way 😉 The ocarina looks interesting - fingers crossed that someone can help you in your mission to learn how to play it 🤞
Oops, just seen the time so I am off to bed & will finish cheerleading later 🙂

Such great decluttering, and beautiful items being made and found! Enjoy reading along. Sadly, little here, a few sleepness nights so gathering grumpiness and RL taking over with work, and BG came to sort out heating and now problems with DD2 and my radiators which is where we need the heat at the moment, and phone returned 'mended' has problems, not all shopping put away with my online parcels (each item wrapped and arrived separately) not sorted! Amazing how quickly downhill.....going to my dads at weekend so want to clear abit for DD (who will be home alone) but will focus my mind on sorting his. DD1 having issues so been helping her taking her stuff and returning with other stuff! Hope to report end of the week.
I did use a list for a few days and remember I did some frogs I think on Monday = 5 and last night emailed BG and Phone people.
Going into work today and to pilates tonight which will hopefully declutter some stress and aches and pains building up. I do sound a grump - will go and count my blessings which are many or get out the other side of bed!

Lovely quilts , Vulpix. Great talent , which I wish I had and the patience. Like you I adore Arts and Crafts items and love restoring wooden furniture.13

@vulpix if and when I unearth the quilts I'll take photos. I'd like to do that in any case. I also would like to hang them on a wall somewhere as they are too small for our bed (they'd suit a single or small double but not our superking!) Problem is with our house being a converted bungalow there are few substantial walls that have the vertical space. I might look at using them when/if we ever get the guest bedroom sorted, maybe just as a extra on the foot of the bed or something.
@-taff
I don't make quilts, I make throws that are basically scrap bits of fabric sewn over each other. Very messy and not a patch [pun intended] on a proper quilt.
What we used to call crazy quilts as there was no logic to them!!
Meanwhile on the actual decluttering front....OH has moved his huge bag of old clothes downstairs with the suggestion that we fill it up with more things or add more bags and take it all plus the zillion china thimbles to a car boot. Surprised me but I'll see what might be available locally - maybe an indoor sale locally with a percentage for charity or an outdoor one when warmer weather comes along. Means I've got even more reason to go through some of my horde of junk precious leftovers.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards.
