Hi all, I have not caught up yet with today's posts, I will do so after I have posted.
The union meeting went ok but I was home too late to make the post office and I had to have a sit down after late lunch. I have tasks to do from the meeting but they will be for Monday as they involve phone calls. I also have a couple of emails to send so I might get them done tomorrow. I managed a small rummage in the corner with mainly OHs stuff and unearthed a plastic sweetie tin, a metal sweetie tin with sweeties in but I haven't checked the date yet, the handle from a bucket, I have no idea... a single golf club, a single glove - still hunting for the other one so I can put them in the cs bag, various bits of rubbish and paper that were put in the bin or recycling. There is loads more but I think I will try to tackle it tomorrow when OH is here and maybe we can get it cleared. I did also find some treasure, a small tin of £2 coins that I collected pre covid and completely forgot about. It was destined to be some holiday spends but we never got to go so I think I will bank it in a savings account for when we do get to go somewhere, and maybe resume collecting them
. I listened to the footie on the radio texting my nephew and then had a phone chat with a friend's Mum who I had sent the parcel to. She loved them so that was nice. Also heard friend who is in hospital appears to be improving
. After tea I just did some crochet and watched some tv, torturing myself again by watching the footie highlights
So
299 union meeting
300 living room recycling
301 kitchen recycling
Off to catch up
Take care everyone

1. Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks
2. Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ I have an acronym - I.R.I.S. being Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off
3. Implement a new sleep/wake up regime - start going to bed earlier (target before 2:00 a.m.) get up earlier (target by 9:00 a.m.)
4. Deal with daily mail immediately
5. Don’t put it down, put it away
6. If I spot a mini task deal with it immediately e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
7. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
Back again & yes I did write the April to June birthday cards 🙂 I also went through the contents of my large footstool - 0.5” paperwork recycled & a couple of items filed to their proper places 😉 A work in progress 😉 DSis went out for some shopping specifically 75mg Aspirin (only found one box) & came back with fresh flowers for us 😊 DH went out for 2 walks & has hit his target for Saturday. He is slowly building up to his 11,000 steps👏 Dinner tonight will be cottage pie (from freezer) with a side of peas & sweetcorn. Wudupa.
441 - 448 Kitchen recycling, 3 plastic containers, small plastic bottle, drinks cans, glass jar, 0.5” paperwork - recycled
449 Kitchen detritus binned
Good idea to get a locksmith, short_bird 🙂
🤔 ~FlowerPot~ , good luck getting your children to rinse or maybe scrape their plates 🍀 Hope you got what you wanted at the garden centre 🤞
joanie, the EDT is moving so fast even I am struggling to keep up 😉 Well done on managing to declutter 3 pairs of shoes 👏 Good luck with Frog February 🍀 especially the paperwork blitz which I see may be ‘hampered’ by your husband 😉
vulpix, I have read the article now & whilst I agree it is about control it did creep me out a bit 😬 Oops I was obviously in a hurry but I did enjoy my fish fringes - must get DH to buy some more 😂 Although I can play chess, I prefer draughts aka checkers 😉 Fingers crossed DB has mellowed 🤞Hope you enjoy your meet up with bit_by_bit 😊
Great email decluttering Brie 👏 I do love the smell of a cigar but only outdoors 😉
Thanks for the weather warning weenancy 👏 Apparently we will have a few nights of -3C but single +temperatures during the day 🤞
daisy_1571, I agree grandmanerd’s relative should definitely get the locks changed 🙂
Sorry to hear about eldest DD’s accident Dfw38 ☹️ Wishing her a speedy recovery. Well done on getting the car insurance sorted 🙂 I had to smile at the thought that 2nd DD & DS thought Ik** was amazing 🥲 Good luck with the cuddly toy decluttering 🍀
D123456789, I take it you are not tempted to buy new jars 😉 Now that LO is a fully paid up member of the decluttering club at age 5, I am awarding her a medal 🏅 Perhaps she can earn some pocket money helping with the cleaning & polishing each week 🙃 Sounds like both you & LO have had a perfect day 😍
Love it Floss - teenage boys being amused at visiting Ik** 😂
grandmanerd, I think you should persuade her to change the locks asap 🙂
Useful information about locksmiths Dfw38 👏
As long as your youngest doesn’t buy anything, Floss it seems like a cheap way for a 35 year old to have fun 😅
~FlowerPot~ good job there are people who love Ik** - DH & I dislike it intensely - never able to find the shortcut to the section we want to get to 😬 😖 I think I have been 3 times in my life & DH 4 times 😉Good luck with your list of Frogs for February 🍀
TC77, I think you have hit the nail on the head - it could easily stress people out by being yet another thing to do 😔 You have been very busy - not only selling items & decluttering but meeting up with family & moving furniture 👏 Don’t forget we are also trying out ‘mocktails’ 😉 I would say ditto to your comment “Rather than a light bulb moment, I have a flickering light that spurs me on in fits and starts
”
Excellent decluttering Keiths_Mum 👏 & I am very pleased to hear that you are noticing a difference 😊One medal 🏅 coming your way. I will be round later for a portion of sweet & sour chicken 😉😉
Well done on getting your report finalised DundeeDoll 👏 One medal 🏅 coming your way for maintaining the daily 23 minutes 👏
Yippee to a considerate buyer Florenceem 🥳 On track for February’s monthly challenge 👏
Great work diminua 👏 Hope your new, new laptop works properly 🤞
Great decluttering skogar 👏
TC77, I struggle with jewellery as well 😔 I have lots of beautiful jewellery - lots of gold pieces, pearls & also costume jewellery which I wear once in a blue moon but am extremely reluctant to give up 😉 All I wear on a daily basis are my 58 year old Italian gold earrings & my wedding, engagement & eternity rings 😊 and at the moment I am wearing DH’s wedding band as it no longer fits (since he had shingles) ☹️
Wow you have been busy Liverpool_Anne 🤩 Excellent decluttering 👏 Good news that your friend in hospital seems to be improving 🙂 long may it continue 😊 Now that is what I call treasure - a tin of £2 coins 🥳
Having watched several programmes about Roy Orbison & one with Gene Pitney (on BBC2) I will confirm that I am happy I have a TV license 😉 Makes a change that I knew ALL the words to several Roy Orbison songs & a couple of Gene Pitney songs - I felt like a teenager 😂 Also enjoyed the music videos of the 80’s: 1981 🙂
Night, night

@Mrs_Salad_Dodger - thank you for my ⭐️ as it will help to spur me on. Well done to your DH for keeping on track with his training.@Dfw38 - that must have been a scary experience with your daughter’s concussion. I hope she is feeling better now.@GrannyKate - I have my fingers crossed that all will be well for you, definitely keeping busy is a good idea, along with some TLC and a few fun things if you can.I discovered that Mr MV has been putting some shirts into the spare room wardrobe. We have an agreement to keep our clothes restricted to our bedroom storage, except for coats and other bulky outdoor wear. I had a count up; 35 shirts! No wonder he was having trouble squeezing them in. I found 5 obvious candidates for disposal to the rag bag; old work shirts (he’s retired) with frayed cuffs and faded collars. He mostly wears tee shirts now so he is going to have a sort through for the shirts he would still enjoy wearing and that are in a wearable condition. Likewise his suits. My hanging clothes are getting a bit squished too and I can think of a few candidates for the CS.I opened another one of the desk drawers, thinking that I would take the whole thing out to sort it. It was too overwhelming (it contains cards and photos) so I shall just take handfuls out at a time and do it bit by bit.So today’s tasks will be a bit of weeding out of the wardrobe and some of that drawer.Wishing everyone a happy and peaceful Sunday 😊17

Having started with MrsSD's thread 26th December with 22 minutes a day and upping to 23 minutes a day 2023 this is the end of my 6th week. I am really getting into my stride and am confident I'll have my bedroom and office totally sorted by the end of Feb (overall aim is late August for whole house, garden,, garage and work office as that's my 60th). Having sorted all my jumpers (releasing 2 to the CS plus 2 cardigans so that's quite a lot of bulky packing) I was thinking that I only wear my snuddie in my office so best place is in the office. I have an over-door set of hooks that I got from a CS many moons ago and doesn't work on any door I need to shut. I don't need to shut my office door so voila hooks put to use and a space on the shelf where the snuddie was. My wardrobe is starting to feel it can breath!
This is from one of the best books I've read on decluttering - the toothbrush principle for good storage - "The toothbrush principle solves this by ensuring that most of the time you never have to move far at all in order to put the item you’re using back in its place." based on the fact we always know where our toothbrush is. i think i've only ever mislaid my keys once since adopting this years ago and am gradually now applying to my whole house.MrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

At the beginning of this year I made a decision to transition to my natural grey after decades of dyeing my hair - my hairdresser recommended going shorter and blonder (ashy) so the grey blends in as it grows & there's less coloured hair to grow out. Well I had it done yesterday and I'm loving my shorter hair but I am self-conscious being quite this blonde (my Cousin called it "Boris Blonde"
!!) - particularly as I was hoping to slip gracefully into grey.... I hope I get used to it soon.
I guess if that's all I've got to complain about at the moment life must be pretty good right now & I need to be grateful(which I am!)
Love to all - particularly those with trials & tribulations - & continuing thanks to you MrsSD for your exceptional cheerleading !!!
