Hello everyone,Just catching up with all of the posts, everything just moves so fast. I’m afraid I’ve just been having to skim read a lot today. So hugs to those who need them and sorry if I’ve missed anything important!
@plumduff55 glad I’m not the only one who can’t let a good box pass me by! 😂@Siebrie great idea about return addresses on cards for hospital 👍
@MadamMim2013 I’ve bought the paint will you come and paint the chimney breast for me as you seem to be on a roll with it?😜. Actually that’s one of my 🐸 I hope to get to this week. 😩
@charlies_tribe happy birthday 🥳 ( I hope that is what you meant)Decided to do my shoes yesterday. And managed to get rid of three pairs which isn’t a lot.! But I am hoping that As I do another pass through every cupboard in the house, I’ll get more out next time. Unfortunately, shoes are my passion And therefore, one of the more difficult things for me to declutter! As I’ve been around the whole house once now with only a few odd drawers or boxes remaining to look through, I’ve decided that for February, I’m going to deal with frogs 🐸!!
🐸1 = I’m going to start on all of the paperwork, that’s stored upstairs. This includes all of my mum‘s stuff in relation to her house sale, moving into a home, and eventual death. As I had power-of-attorney over her finance matters, I had all correspondence and have kept it for the last four years Decided now is the time to go through it. In addition to that I’ve got all of the paperwork from our house moves over the last 25 years and I really don’t see the point in keeping everything. Unfortunately, my husband thinks it will be very interesting for our son to read in the future! 🫤but I’ve made a start today and I’m getting rid of lots of duplicate photocopies of things and I’m determined that I’m only going to keep things that might (🤔) be interesting. For example, the cost of the houses, any repair works that we had done. All of the solicitors letters that are simply asking us to call-in or to sign something I’m going to throw away.🐸2 = I’m going to paint the chimney breast in the living room which has been on my to do list since November. Don’t tell hubby, I’m going to do it while he is at work 😁
🐸3 = I’m going to buy the paint for the bathroom (not committing to when I will paint it though 🥴Keep going everyone xDeclutter challenge 2023.

Hi, just taking a break. Only 5 pages to read since yesterday.Such a lot of people needing a little tlc. Hugs.I agree with the essence of the article. Decluttering is all about control. Often after a big light bulb moment like illnesses or bereavement. Holds true for me.I am pleased to see you enjoyed your fish fringes the other day Mrs SD. I have never seen a fish with a fringe. No wonder, you are eating them all. 🤣 I would love to be able to play chess. I never learned. Bucket list perhaps.
Grandmanerd, sell the house to DS and beloved and move. Great idea to pay for some muscle to help you. ❤️
After a sleeplessness night I will approach my brother with an open mind. My Dad died over 30 years ago so here’s hoping DB has mellowed. 😬
I have been sanding the drawers top by hand for a couple of hours. Another hour and I might have cracked it! Once the drawers are done it will free up time for the other jobs that have become frogs.Having a meet up with bit by bit on Monday. 🤩 Always a pleasure.

2 useless amaryliss have been decluttered to the greenhouse - not sure why they didn't flower this year. This will make room for a pot with 3 hyacinth which hopefully will fill the house with lovely scent. This will be even nicer now that OH has restricted his cigars to his little computer room and not in the lounge. Hurrah!!! Hopefully when his current supply runs out he'll do a better job at quitting completely.
emails deleted - well over 1000!!! why do I have insurance docs from 6 years back!!?!?!?!?!I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. Please watch your weather reports carefully. The storm that is hitting the east coast here is just awful. If it is heading your way, be prepared for the coldest weather in years. It has broken records all over the east coast (all the way across to Texas). I am worried about you. I hope it doesn't make that far.20

grandmanerd said:the recently bereaved daughter of mum's cousin. She's decided to pack away her mother's ornaments and hide them in case the toxic cousin descends on her - he may have a key to her mum's house and won't hesitate to nose around uninvited (why else is he thinking about a 300 mile plus journey - that's one way).
Hiding things as she tries to clear will not make her job easier and if she suspects he might pinch something, when something inevitably goes missing, can't be found or gets mislaid she will always secretly blame the cousin when in actuality he was never near the place.
Just a thought

Hello, just had a quick skim read as rl has been hectic. Eldest dd had an accident at school on Thursday (head injury) she was sore but OK until 1am Friday morning when she was sick and then sick again about 6am after drinking some water. She complained of being in pain and feeling weird so we went to a and e Friday at 8am and after checking her over very thoroughly concluded that she had a mild concussion. We were home by 9am, so grateful to the wonderful nurses who did everything they could to reassure dd (and me!) And that they were so thorough. We need to keep an eye on her and any concerns to go straight back. Dd is still very tired and not really eating much but hoping another good night's sleep will improve how she feels.
🐸 number 3 is sorting my car insurance. Due on the 25th, was about to start checking around and then had an email from my current provider who were £10 cheaper. Thought that would do because I don't have the energy in me with a poorly child being super clingy too.
Been to the Swedish store today (first time in 3 years!) It was very busy and 2nd dd and ds (who had never been before) thought it was absolutely amazing, could have told them it was Disney land and got away with it 😀! Picked up some boxes for a unit that will be in their new room, a net canopy for their corner and a new cuddly toy each 🙄 (a panda for ds, a husky for 2nd dd and the biggest polar bear toy I have ever seen for eldest dd) the deal is we clear out some of the older ones that no longer get snuggles with... watch this space.2024 decluttering Campaign

Hello all, what a fascinating article! I have to admit I still use shoe boxes as drawer dividers. DH bought glass storage jars when he first moved out of his childhood home and we still use them now for pasta!
well LO and I have had a great day. I suggested we tidy her room. We basically emptied her clothes rail, and bookshelves dusted and then only put back what she really wants to keep, she really loved doing the dusting and polishing. She let go more than a dozen books that were a bit babyish now. 3 toys she also decided she had grown out of. No way was she parting with any cuddly toys so they are neatly put back on her shelf. I am very proud of her, she is only 5.Next we sorted all her toys downstairs and got rid of mostly party bag toot toys. Everything that goes together is put together now. She really did a great job. I have 1 small pile of bits and bobs to put away.I have recently been through her crafts stash, but I have to say I can’t resist buying new books for her from the charity shop.
So now a big bag for the charity shop is ready to go. I decluttered 6 wine glasses, excess tea towels, and a couple of my clothes that I’ve gone off as well.
Ive hoovered, put the washing on and we’ve eaten early so now we’re watching a film.19 -
