2023 DECLUTTERING CAMPAIGN Mrs SD

@Floss that is hilarious! Good to hear that the appeal of the shop should last for a few years yet!
@grandmanerd my dh used to work as a locksmith and he was amazed that people wouldn't get their locks changed when people moved into a new house! Quite a few people only got them changed when they had unexpected visitors.....If she checks out her local high Street one they should be quite reasonable. It was a few years ago but they used to charge about £40 (greater London prices) I can't imagine the price would have gone up by much, area depending.2024 decluttering Campaign

Read the article, I do worry it can make people feel less satisfied with their life and another thing to do.... I too use cardboard boxes and tupperware which has lost its lid for drawer storage. I do put pasta, lentils and porridge in glass jars but do feel that people get sucked into buying so many containers - although the swedish shop is to blame for a few too many in my house.
Bag of friend's belongings returned to her
Saw my cousin and her new kitchen extension - very spacious (and lovely ) but they haven't brought things back down from the loft), helped her put an item they bought but didn't use on fleabay. item of my dad's sold. DB went to the tip , I told him to keep rolls of wallpaper that are a nice print as good for drawer liners, another item picked up from there.
Photo frame in CS bag at my home, and 5 books back to the library - apparently I have another one so will have to tidy more! may find the other flip flop (0.5 pair). DD2 will hopefully help me move furniture back into the office. Have card and wrapping paper ready for DD2 to wrap pressie for her coach - last football match until hopefully she plays at uni...... will have weekends free of sport for the first time for over 10 years, still have all her cricket, hockey kit etc, Landing cupboard has ladder and carpet shampooer (have to try it out as brought back from dad's) which is great as they were out.
2 frog emails written and about to write to do list for tomorrow now.
I hear the TLC carriage has a fresh delivery of speciality tea, cocktails and splendid treat trolley so hope people take time out there. Rather than a light bulb moment, I have a flickering light that spurs me on in fits and starts19 -
Evening All
Continuing with paperwork decluttering, been shredding every now and then throughout the day as the shredder likes a rest after it has shredded about 40 pieces. Altogether shredded 236 pieces today, yes Mrs SD, I am definitely seeing a difference.
I also sorted out my Mums old jewellery box and the following has gone to the charity shop:
1 ring
3 necklaces
7 pairs of earrings
3 rosaries (I kept the nicest one)
4 bracelets
1 anklet
1 watch
1 pin badge
1 jewellery box
I also sorted out another kitchen cupboard and the following also went to the charity shop:
Ice cube tray
Set of 4 ice lolly molds
2 desert glasses
Tomorrow I will continue with paperwork decluttering, bottom of coat cupboard and shelf unit.
Also going to batch cook shepherds pie and sweet and sour chicken and do the washing and ironing ready for work on Monday, boy the weekends go quick don't they.
Start where you are, use what you have, do what you can

Went to Prayer Breakfast.
Have had time wasters in the past but today I had a text and a buyer came on time to collect 3 retro storage cannisters and gave me £20 - this is for SA.
I was feeling very tired so went for a nanna nap which turned into a few hours crash but I needed it.
So today's decluttering -

In - small tin of red enamel paint (remember the old airfix paints, that size. I had to go to a model shop, toy shops don't seem to do them anymore) to mark my flour tin so I don't mix it up with the self raising flour one. Out - one of the jute bags which was tearing right across at the bottom - it's the really big comic relief one and I think I still worked at JS when we bought it, so it must be a good 20 years old. I also had to reluctantly ditch two aloe vera that were not at all happy - they were offshoots of my main plant and seemed ok potted up at first, but I think the compost wasn't suitable and they basically drowned. I also had to take my new laptop back and exchange it as it was playing up worse than the old one. Note to self - do not shop at Purley Way on foot again. It's grim enough in a car.
12 books should go out tomorrow to the bookswap as I have to go through Wimbledon anyway.
Fingers crossed those facing storms/medical appointments/worries with family find them not as bad as expecting, or if that's unrealistic, that they get through them and out the other side OK.Fashion on the Ration 2025 - 1.5 coupons remaining
