Hugs and positive thoughts coming your way @GrannyKate
I see a light bulb momentin the making @grandmanerd.
Got the CS this afternoon. Going to drop off some stuff but to a different one as mine is too posh for most things these days. I am dropping off two ina and out bags.
I am still under the weather and so didn't do much yesterday and nothing much to be done today now. I am going to rope DS1, who is still living with me and DH into some cleaning in the week. i want the house guest ready for Next Saturday night.

6. If I spot a mini task deal with it immediately e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
7. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
Friday stayed dry 🙂 DH did 2 walks. I never did come back to firm up plans 😔 so consequently I didn’t write the birthday cards 😔 However I did finish shredding rather a lot of brown paper for worm bedding ✅; finished knitting & sewing in the loose ends of a scarf ✅ + spent a bit of time in the garden helping DH. He emptied 3 trays of worm cast into the larger of the 2 raised beds & I raked it out. DH then rinsed out the sumps & restacked the wormery trays + filled the bird feeders. Dinner was fish fringes*, chips & baked beans. Wudupa.

Saturday is cloudy but slightly warmer. Up by 11:00 & now drinking my first cuppa.
Nice to see you MadamMim2013 even if it is a flying visit 👋 You have been very busy - renovations at your mum’s, decorating & cleaning at your MiL’s, completing the rewiring & decorating in DS1’s room, 2 x 24 hr work shifts & somehow fitting in time to wait in for furniture to be collected 🤩👏 Not surprised you are shattered. Brilliant work & a Gold Star ⭐️ for you because I bet you forgot to award one to yourself 😉
Belated birthday greetings charlies_tribe 🎉 🎂 - I hope you were spoiled rotten😊 Hopefully DD3’s teacher has signed the passport photo so you can send off or deliver the passport application. What a beautiful place to visit for DD3’s first trip abroad - the Black Forest is wonderful, no wonder she is getting excited 🙂 Sorry to hear that all your children have sniffles 🤧 but well done on sorting out the medical box 👏 Great before & after photos - you can definitely get away with a smaller box 👏
Pleased to hear that you tested negative for Covid & that you just have a cough/cold Liverpool_Anne 🙂 Lovely post 😊 Delighted to hear that OH bumped up your numbers 👏 Definitely agree with your theory that ‘when something becomes visible it is ready to be dealt with’ 😉
Excellent decluttering short_bird 👏 One Gold Star ⭐️ on its way for hitting 545
EnergyShifter, if no real plans means you get to spend time in your garden then I am all for it 👏Excellent news about the second cataract surgery - 2 weeks is no time to wait but gives you enough time to get ready & make arrangements 😊
Excellent decluttering of the understairs cupboard Madbat60 👏 Probate documentation doesn’t count as clutter 😉
Pleased to hear that SiL feels better, bit_by_bit 🙂 Great work sorting out financial frogs + one medal 🏅 coming your way for sorting out your phone Apps 👏
Great decluttering Florenceem 👏 + how lovely that MrF’s helping hand to his friend has resulted in a less stressful time for the family 😊
Great decluttering Blue_Doggy 👏 Glad to see that Justin is being put in his place 😅 Rather than mornings decluttered by oversleeping perhaps you can reframe as ‘Life Batteries recharged’ 😉
Excellent paperwork decluttering Keiths_Mum 👏 I hope you are starting to notice the difference 🤞Hmm treasure or clutter 🤔 - I think it depends how far along you are in your decluttering journey 😉
Florenceem, sorry to hear that MrF is struggling with a twisted ankle ☹️ Please bring him along to the TLC Carriage………..along with a slice or two of that lovely looking fruit loaf 😉😊
vulpix, shame about the mirror but lovely that the trip out was a pleasure 😊 Everything crossed that the visit to your Mum’s goes well & that you can get the ball rolling on the potential renting out of your Mum’s house 🤞 Sorry to hear that your DB is a problem causer rather than a problem solver 😔 Huge hug coming your way 🤗 Nothing wrong with an afternoon off but do pop into the TLC Carriage - there are jigsaws a-plenty 🙂 as well as plenty of books, decks of cards & I do believe there are chess sets & dominoes 😉
Excellent decluttering TC77 👏 Although I am rather bemused by 2.5 pairs of flip flops 🤔 Good luck with writing the report 🍀
Excellent decluttering QueenJess 👏 I really love the idea of “decluttering by stealth before my brain realises” 😉
Great decluttering Liverpool_Anne 👏 Hope the union meeting went well 🤞 & I hope that ln is OK & just been busy indoors 🙂
Just stopping for a while to post - I will have to settle for early afternoon 😉 Will be back I a few minutes to finish cheerleading & decide on plans for the day 😉

...tiptoes quietly back from TLC carriage after medical appoints every day last week
.They never get any easier and everyone feels like im going for a job interview
Am only up to pages 158 catching up on posts but little bits done this week . For jobs I find super hard to keep on top of I have used the 23 method to gain some momentum and counted them in. Thanks so much for introducing me to that!:
77- random envelope of hospital information, letters, name labels. Filed /shredded/binned or recycled
78 - PJs to donation box
79,80,81 x 3 tourniquet's to bin
82- Leather belt kept for justin case. Finally wanted to use it and it had perished black bits everywhere BINNED LESSON LEARNED RE JUSTIN CASE ITEMS
83-crystal glass vase accidently smashed (persuading DH it does not need replacing!)
84 - split colander ,we had 3! DH trouble understanding we do not need to replace it!
85 - 23 items filed/binned/shredded or recycled from office of dooms paper mountain
This is true. I went to school with a boy called justin case .17 -
@Florenceem your cakes look so good, i think I need to make a fruit loaf this afternoon! Not been doing much on the decluttering side of things this week, did take some childrens books to the charity shop yesterday. And have been in the garden, filled the garden waste bins for emptying on wednesday and they are full again with weeds and branches and leaves already. SO thats 4 bins decluttered.I also decluttered the drainage from the kitchen/ dishwasher where it comes outside into the drain in the garden, from time to time to fat and garden debris build up and it over flows, It is a very grim job and some how I always seem to land it! Any way job done!!flowersx♥️ ♥️ ♥️🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸Decluttering 2025 So far 403 / 2025

‘It’s a control thing’: why are we so fascinated by super-organised homes? | Homes | The Guardian
However, if you're in a tl:dr situation (too long: didn't read) here's the bit that resonated with me.
"When I speak to Rendall, she’s in the process of reorganising her office – pink Post-its adorn 12 white drawers, marking the future homes of her possessions, which lay jumbled in baskets and boxes around the room. “This makes me feel a little bit on edge,” Rendall says, looking around. “But I know that once it’s done, I’ll sleep easy.” "

Minor decluttering today. House currently a tip as I have all DS’s party stuff everywhere. It’ll all be gone by Monday though, so temporary. Fingers crossed he doesn’t get loads of presents 😬. We did say on the invites there was no need to get anything.
1,531-1,534 - photos deleted
1,535 - paper recycled
1,536 - unused bathroom stuff (Buy Nothing)
1,537 - puzzle (Buy Nothing)
I did open and stare into the cupboard upstairs for a while, then decided it was too hard and shut it again. It’ll still be there another day! It’s storing the spare pillows and duvets for guests that’s a pain. I’ve never worked out how to get them in there nicely.2025 decluttering: 5,121 🌟🥉🌟💐🏅🏅🌟🥈🏅🌟🏅💐💎🌟🏅🏆🌟🏅🌟🌟2025 use up challenge: 363🥉🥈🥇💎🏆Mini freezer challenge -1/-20Big kitchen declutter challenge 121/1502025 decluttering goals I Use up Challenge: 🥉365 🥈750 🥇1,000 💎2,000 🏆 3,000 👑 8,000 I 🥉12 🥈26 🥇52 💎 100 🏆 250 👑 50014 -

Back again 😉 I have got dressed & finally put away the laundered clothes 🙂 Only the birthday cards to write from my original list………I think 🤔
Wow weenancy 🤩 Where do you get your energy from? I think you must be ‘weather powered’ not just solar powered as it doesn’t seem to matter what the weather is you still manage to do copious amounts of work 🤩 Just a thought re the missing security code - have you checked your junk boxes for each of your addresses? You might have a filter set up that you are unaware of 😬 What a great result re the specific dictionary 😂 serendipitous indeed 👏 Thanks for the weather warning - very scary 😧
Sorry to hear that you are feeling ‘off’ GrannyKate ☹️ Excellent work on the finishing touches & pleased to hear that you are doing the work gently 😊 Hopefully the TLC Carriage will have some of Florenceem’s delicious looking fruit loaf 😉 One Gold Star ⭐️ coming your way for dealing with the electronic Frog - I am always impressed when someone tackles & succeeds with that type of task 👏 I just ask DH to sort things out for me 😉
Thanks for the link short_bird 👏 I have bookmarked it to read later although I have skim read some of it 😉 I am still in the old mind set of utilising the storage boxes etc that I bought 30 years ago 😂 - as a few years ago it was all the rage to repurpose what you already had & save money. I have an eclectic mix of storage containers because although I do see some benefits of matching containers I am not prepared to make other people rich 🤑 nor do I have the size of house that could accommodate all those storage ‘solutions’ 🤔
Lovely to see you grandmanerd 👋 Sorry to hear that you are feeling under the weather & keep dozing off ☹️ So I am tasking you with organising blood tests asap 😉 Not sure I would class all the work you have done as “gentle activity” 😉 You have not only done a prodigious amount of work but have also been very supportive of ‘deserving’ family members 😊 I am still awaiting the kickstart to my decluttering zeal 😉 but I am very pleased that you are making the most of your recently kickstarted zeal for decluttering 👏 🥳
Wednesday2000, I am looking forward to reading the article but only when I have finished cheerleading & got dressed 😂 I do love a quick, painless phone call to arrange something 😉
Sorry to hear you are still under the weather bit_by_bit ☹️ Definitely get DH & DS1 to help (do most of 😉) the cleaning - I think you should just act in a supervisory capacity 😊
See you aboard the TLC Carriage MuddyWalker 😊 you need some rest & relaxation 😊
Good luck thinning out your bookcases ~FlowerPot~ 🍀
gettingthrifty, no need to tiptoe back after all The TLC Carriage is the only place to be when you have so many medical appointments 😊 Excellent decluttering 👏 DH appears to be a work in progress - he doesn’t seem to have grasped the concept that One Out does NOT mean One In 😂 He needs a gentle reminder that the saying is “One In, One Out” 🤣 I wish you luck 🍀
Well done on keeping up with the day to day decluttering ~FlowerPot~ 👏 One medal 🏅 coming your way for tackling that rather grim job 🤢
QueenJess, after that review I might just have to rethink reading that article 😉 Hope DS has a lovely party & that the tidying up is quick & painless 🤞 I know you & I are agreed on less consumption but re the spare duvets & pillows - maybe (& it is only a tentative idea 😉) some vacuum pack bags? You may have some already 🤞They can save space & stack neatly 🤔
Caught up again, so am whizzing off 😂 Plan is to write the birthday cards 😉
