I expect they use a range of different service depending on the item.
But in general standard delivery is just that, no guarenteed date.0 -
If the OP has paid an additional amount, over and above the standard delivery charge, for guaranteed 48 hour delivery that element should be refunded. However, to expect guaranteed delivery in the middle of a postal strike is possibly being a wee bit naive.

Why?I was unaware that they would be unable ro deliver for a minimum of 9 days and in any case - it's not up to me to choose the delivery company is it?It has been sitting in my local sorting office for 4 days with no delivery attempt
