UK CPM - new infestation on private estate

Well done on your fightback. Hopefully the other residents will be spreading the word to their friends and family about the excesses of the unregulated private parking industry.
It is important that you make your neighbours aware of the forthcoming government consultation on parking charge pricing, and this will be their opportunity to have their say, and also to extract their revenge.
I trust you have reassured everyone you have spoken to that these charges are not fines or penalties, and nobody is required to pay them unless a judge says so. Nobody is going to turn up on their doorstep demanding money or goods or clamp their car or seize their cat for ransom.
If you haven't already you can point people to this forum and this thread.

Thanks.
I have indeed been linking people to this forum and specifically the newbies FAQ to get them clued up. I have also mentioned the government consultation and told them to mention it in their letters to our MP as well so hopefully that will pile the pressure on.

Brilliant fightback. I hope Watchdog also pick up your case as this one is a real scam.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

They did kindly get in touch and we had a phone conversation. As the story was quite complex they weren't able to use it for the small segment they were filming at the time but I've sent over a summary of the whole situation so they have it on file and they will hopefully pick up on it again in the future. Still yet to hear anything positive from neighbours about FirstPort so seems there is plenty of ammunition against these guys.7

Brilliant progress, great to see you "mobilising" your neighbours, this really is an impediment to quiet enjoyment of your own home.
Keep going and I wish you every success 👏4 -
Thanks so much guys, it felt like a powerless situation when we first got the penalties and spoke to the MA but with your advice and support we are making progress. I was nervous that other residents would be indifferent or might even support the restrictions but still getting steady stream of residents joining the cause. Even have some who have been personally disrupted by obstructive parking in the past who still support kicking UKCPM out and holding FirstPort (feel like calling them LastPort) accountable.2

Knew you would find allies!
The likes of UKCPM target residents so almost everyone will be affected.

Remember, don't call them fines or penalties, and make sure your neighbours understand that they must not use those words otherwise they are adding a legitimacy that they do not have.
It is also important that words such as unregulated parking companies, and primacy of contract are used.
With regards to tenants, Part 37 of Section IV of the Landlord and Tenant Act 1987 applies. Note that both tenants and landlords must be balloted.

Our MP has replied today to say they have written to FirstPort about the situation so hopefully we will hear back on that soon. Another neighbour is resolute on kicking out FirstPort now too and told me some terrible stories of them mismanaging funds and completely neglecting residents on the estate so I am planning to take up the fight once UKCPM are kicked out. Our development is made up of 3 big plots with one being a large block of flats over the road. A resident from there is involved and has dropped our letter off to all residents there to get them involved too. Don't believe they are currently subject to UKCPM as they have a gated garage but apparently FirstPort are useless at managing access to it.6
