We are also really lucky with the mid week Evri delivery person. Weekends are a bit more hit and miss.We viewed an 'empty for years' house recently, complete with the crematorium jar of ashes in the garage. 'The one with the ashes' as it will now be known. My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese

We viewed a property with a lift in the corner of the living room that went directly into the bedroom above…the photos and description failed to mention it!
Oh and a “it’s just come on this morning, get in there quick” one which I refused to go any further into than the living room as the cat litter and cat food was spread across the floor and there were actual mushrooms growing on the curtains. The agent was astounded that I didn’t want to see upstairs because it was a real bargain. The feedback we gave suggested they call social services and the rspca!2 -
One house I viewed many moons ago had a huge staircase descending from the sitting room to a basement! It had a huge wooden surround and bannisters painted white, to make sure you couldn't miss it I suppose. There was nowhere to sit and you had to edge round, crabwise...when the estate agent asked for feedback, I did suggest that the most obvious buyer would be a builder with time, materials and manpower to hand, plus experience in gaining planning permission. They nodded gloomily.3

It appears we may have a change of Evri delivery person here - I should mention that Mum is in the camp of the many of you who say that your delivery person from them is brilliant - it really does come down to who you have on your run, I suspect. Yesterday we had good comms from them, and the parcel was delivered on time, and to us - it was like some sort of miracle! Fingers crossed that “Jo” is now a regular for us and that this service continues! We’ve had our first valuation - lots of approving noises from the agent, nothing we need to change, and he suggests a guide price with a mid-point slightly higher than we were hoping for as well, so all good there. The more we can get for this, the less we need to borrow, and the more flexibility that then gives us for overpaying. He’d have done photos there and then but we want the other valuation first! Hoping to hear on “One Careful Owner” this afternoon - and the agents seems to think they might agree a grace period where it comes off the market, so fingers crossed.Right - lunchtime.
