That's the issue though Foxgloves - there isn't (hopefully!) a delay to the final completion date, just to the date where we get certainty on what that date will be - and it's incredibly difficult to move forwards with packing up the more "essential" stuff until we know whether it will be 1 week or 6 weeks we will need to be doing without it! It would *almost* be easier if we were just able to say now "OK - it's now the first week of October" and move forward with that - as inconvenient as it would be to have to live with a fairly spartan home and boxes everywhere for that period of time at least we'd know where we stood, and would be able to suspend further packing for the next couple of weeks.
Yes - we are fairly alike I think in that we're planners aren't we - so not being able to feel that we can wholeheartedly commit to a plan because of the actions of others getting in the way of that is tough. That the "other" in this case is a lawyer acting in a way that is completely contrary to all the protocols in place for the legal system in this country makes it all the worse!

Morning all! It's a bit of a grey gloomy one here this morning - and VERY muggy. I did manage to escape getting wet on the way from the car to the office though so that's a small win, we'll see whether I maintain that record when I go back to the car later!
MSE Stuff:
- Banks checked and all good - shuffled £1.70 to the VSP to round down the joint account.
- Interest is now in on both M@rcus accounts
- Just asked MrEH to read the gas meter at some stage today so I can give the reading to the Octopods.
- I have shifted money from the food account to the CC to clear that down to zero. I just want to know where we stand with everything at the moment and while there were oddments which should probably have come from elsewhere, I've taken the decision that actually my time in worrying about it is more valuable used elsewhere. one of those situations where the easiest way forwards is also the best!
- Need to make one of my priority jobs for this evening planning out food right through to next Thursday - I've already dealt with the days I'm on my own over the weekend on the Reverse planning thread but need to transfer that to my own planning book so I know where we're at.
- And the full meal plan will also populate a shopping list - back to Lil's I think again this week.
Moving Stuff:
- More boxes done last night - we tried to focus on the remaining seriously heavy ones (books etc) although I think there will be a couple more of those to do before I'm done with them!
- have asked the removal people to add a mattress cover to the invoice as I think it's worth a small extra cost to make sure that it stays clean and decent. I'm not so fussed about the single - that can take its chances and I'm sure that between "Jaws" and the proposed purchase of a steam cleaner I'll be able to sort out any problems with that anyway!
- Need to remember to keep my eye out tomorrow for the funds arriving across from savings ready for completion - we've agreed they are temporarily going into my own Sant-And-Er e-saver limited edition which has a fairly decent interest rate for instant access, and it's safer than moving it all right out of Sant and then moving it back again in a few days - I'm twitchy that they will lock the account at just the wrong moment and leave us with problems!
I plan to use a first-thing-in-the-morning walk or cycle tomorrow to head to the town centre to pay in that coin I mentioned before. I need to try to remember this evening to take my £2 coins out of their pig to take with me too - although I'll need more cashbags before I can hand them over for paying in. The £49 of other coin will be heading to the holiday account anyway.
Impressed to find that my Garmin informs me that I am already miles over my "active minutes" target this week - that's a nice feeling and I'll be adding more to it tomorrow. I'm also hoping that the next few days will mean that I can get a little run of yoga going as well - although I'm under no illusions I'll be able to keep it up consistently for the next little while I think it would make a difference to make sure I make time for it where I can.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Ha, I'm a planner too, and Mr Cheery most definitely is NOT 😂 When faced with a list, he tends to shut his eyes and run in the opposite direction - and there tend to be a lot of lists bandied around in this house 😂 His whim-based system of DIY has almost driven me to despair at several points 😂
Still, I can't really complain - I am indeed a planner, but my plans don't always come to fruition, however good they are.
Watching your organised planning with awe! All fingers and toes crossed for tomorrow xxx4 -
Ooh Cheery! I now have MrSl trained to suggest what he plans to do next (and I ask what his plans are if he doesn't) and then I pull something off my list for him to do whenever he says he has no plans that day, AND I suggest when other things are higher priority, with a separate rainy day list too. And that is day-to-day, not moving!
Having had one couple of buyers have such a big row that they actually separated and pulled out on the day we were due to exchange, I tread a fine line between my private and public listsSave £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £10,020.92 out of £6000 after September

I say this with love, but right now, I really can't cope with any more "other people's moving horror stories".
Please believe me if I say that if there is any possibility, even if it's entirely unprecedented, of anything that could occur between now and us finally getting into the new house (or indeed NOT getting in to the new house!) I will already have thought about it and indeed probably be hyper-focusing on it at this very moment!
Oh Cheery yes, I can entirely sympathise with your hair-tearing over MrC's haphazard approach to...well I was going to say DIY, but...! MrEH isn't quite that bad, but I do think he sometimes feels like running away!
And SL - the approach of "what are your plans, oh, you don't have any, well here you go then!" can certainly work from time to time, although I did find that after a while MrEH got wise to it and started making up "plans" of his own to head the possibility off at the pass!
I have just sent MrEH over a list of the various jobs that we must get done on Monday - several involve the possibility of giant spiders, and others are just a bit tedious so I don't have any intention of doing them on my own...! having said that, I have SO many lists in various draft emails actually finding anything is beginning to get a bit challenging!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡
