Re-direction :
see the FAQs here : https://www.royalmail.com/d8/help/redirection, scroll down to "Help with cancelling or changing a Redirection" and look at "How do I change the start date?"
Once you have exchanged and ascertained when mortgage funds will be available for completion then you will likely still have time to decide if you need to change the start date

Hope a hope all goes ahead for exchange Friday and completion the following week.My DD had all sorts of holdups which were blamed on solicitors (not hers) and had to book removers and apply for mortgage funds without exchanging first as only one day between exchange and completion.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free Wannabe, Budgeting and Banking and Savings and Investment boards. Thanks all for popping in - and for not just being totally sick of this entire saga and washing your hands of me! Honestly it is SO frustrating - Cheery I have no idea how people make simultaneous exchange/complete work, I'm flipping certain that it's not anything I'd want to do just because of the uncertainty, but it's far from uncommon these days, albeit usually where people are moving from rented so they have some cross-over in the moving out/in dates.
MSE Stuff:
- Banks checked, all good, still in the "dead zone"!
- My car fed last night - £25.01 (of course the odd penny!) - had to use the CC for that as realised at the pump that I didn't remember the pin number for the joint account card - doh!
- Money for the diesel transferred across to the CC this morning! (And must remember to check on the pin number!)
- MrEH popped to T's yesterday morning for more cherry tomatoes - thought to check the yellow sticker area while there and also grabbed a couple of packs of sliced meat for lunches - he divided and froze those as soon as he got back home with them.
- Neighbour gave us a big handful of runner beans - they are allotment sitting for a pal and can't use all they are picking!
- Remembered to get the sausages out of the freezer to cook this evening.
- MrEH will have to fill his car at some stage over the weekend - either on the way down to Devon tomorrow or on the way back on Sunday.
Mothing much "Moving Stuff" to report really - although we did make a good start on the balcony last night and got most of a large box packed with the random garden stuff from out there, plus the bookcase that we've always used for storage there transferred to the garage ready to go. I'll likely move one of the chairs and one of the tables to the garage tomorrow evening (or ask MrEH to do it during the day) as I'll only need one of each over the weekend. I think this evening's first job had better be packing up and dismantling the shelving unit in the garage - and transferring the logs from the storage cabinet into rubble sacks ready for moving too. MrEH may be able to do those while I cook dinner though.
Our mortgage funds were requested yesterday so MrBoss should have them the day before our planned completion date as standard. I need to ensure that I don't take my eye off the ball for getting the balance of the completion money across from the C0v3ntry as well - particularly in light of the bank holiday. In fact, I may actually do that today, I can always temporarily house it in M@rcu5 for a few days. I'll see what MrEH reckons.
Sausage, mash & beans this evening, and I'll get the single portion of spicy ragu out of the freezer ready for my tea tomorrow night. Must put together a meal plan for next week as well, with an assumption that if all goes to plan we won't have a cooker past Wednesday evening, and will be relying on takeaway of some sort on Thursday evening. I've decided against the HF box at the moment as I'm concerned it might actually be more faff than using my own repertoire of very quick easy meal options...🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Sausage and mash (albeit veggie sausages) are my favourite comfort meal!
You sound like you have everything in hand. You are so organised. I also don't know how people can exchange/complete on the same day either and I've never had to be out and in on the same day. We've always had some crossover with days but I do have a friend who ended up sitting outside the new house in the moving van for about 2 hours while some hiccoughs were dealt with.
All the hassle will be worth it when you are in the new house with something alcoholic and a takeaway/picnic celebrating your first night in your new home.Goals for FebruaryDeclutter 2/50Money Made £0/£200Overpayments £0/£2005 -

It is so frustrating @EssexHebridean. I expect you are rather like me, in that as we are organised people who can generally deliver on what has been agreed, we expect others to do the same & it seems doubly annoying when they don't! All you can really do now is make the most of the delay to your advantage with a bit of extra packing, sorting & house cleaning time so there is less to so when things do happen.
