i hope that op doesn't feel badgered.

i was only trying to answer the op's question about why it was mentioned a few times by differnt people and why it felt wrong with the info we had originally.

It's amazing how those with a can-do attitude and willingness to 'pitch in and work' get all the luck, isn't it?

So after all that time on the phone to sse and giving them the meter reading that they can see their end a couple of days ago, my wife got a text from them today to say an estimated bill has been generated and can we provide a meter reading as they may have over charged us.

    They are an f’ing joke.

So, does the fact that they are continuously failing to generate bills according to the smart meter reading, which was clarified two days ago that they can see and read at their end, and keep generating wild and fanciful estimated bills, mean that they are in breach of any contract themselves, meaning I can switch suppliers even if they think I am tied into a contract?

Also why do they phone me asking if my wife has permission to speak to them every time, even though I’ve already authorised this, Yet they send her text messages, not me?

Thank you for the photos -  SSE do seem to have made a mess up of the meter change.

Did you realise you are on a day/night tariff ?
Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill
  • There doesn’t appear to be any lights on the communication hub or is it just how the photo was taken?

Yes, I mentioned earlier sse keep asking if there has been a problem with the meter because it isn’t registering anything at night, and we have told them the shop is closed between 5pm and 10am so everything is switched off

Yeh but they seem to cycle through sequence and when I took the photo none were lit up.

In that case you should not be on a day/night tariff.   In your discussions with SSE get them to put you on the standard tariff.

Day and night rate are both 21.2 pence.

This is very unusual in itself, and the rate seems very low for a commercial contract taken out last November.

Now I am getting confused -  where did the £1.71 /kWh Out of Contract rate come from ?
