“December: A month of lights, snow, coziness, and feasts; time to make amends and tie up loose ends; finish what you started and make your wishes come true.”Enjoy the twinkling fairy lights. Enjoy the lightness that snow brings (even if it causes you numerous problems with getting things done). Enjoy the darkness if you are f0xh0les. Enjoy snuggling down (with a book/hot chocolate/TV). Enjoy your food. Enjoy not caring what other people think. Enjoy not keeping to 'rules' and 'traditions' (and blame the various strikes if necessary...). Enjoy keeping a note of your progress. Enjoy making plots and plans for next year. Enjoy something every single day.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!10

This year, I am mostly working until 9.30pm, and usually get home at 9.59pm (hooray for working near the bus station and living near the bus stop) so I am not getting to enjoy the darkness as much this year. Still love it though!! So last night I put the twinkly lights on at the window.... for the first time. They have been up for over 2 weeks, but I could not be faffed to turn them on (only just started feeling a teeny bit fa-la-la-la-la ) and DH finds the whole business weird anyway. I did put up the solar lights on the garland up the handrail to the middle floor, and it has made me laugh to turn it on when I go to bed - it looks like a runway. This week I have started the Xmas shopping. All the sweeties, and the main 'meatless' roasts have been bought. Still need to do socks and fluffies and things. Started wrapping stuff. Only need to send one more thing by Royal Mail (aka Santa's Army). Going to do the fluff and socks tomorrow from work. I have the feeling the sales have started this week in a lot of shops, so there is still time to grab a bargain. So all in all, feeling calm, earning money, no stress, no fuss, all home under the same roof, and no drama.Going to hit the charity shops this afternoon, and clean the living room properly, wrap a few bits, and dress the living room.Them's my plans for today. Hooray!4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

Me too - it's coming, the frost soon melted on the rooftops and we've had rain. I can walk down to the bottom of the yard safely (I did the bags of paper and cardboard rubbish) but there are still icy patches in the backs outside the gate (it's clear along the ridge line in the middle) so hopefully tomorrow the rest can go out or in the bins (I threw the bags of cans and bottles as near to the bins as I could get them.11

Evening turtlesRelatively relaxed day today. No work or outdoor commitments! I did some jobs around the house this morning in between reading my book. Dyed my hair and cleaned as I went. Went to the chemist to collect my prescription then to the local shop for some eggs.Took my car to be washed as it was utterly filthy from all my motorway driving earlier this week. Also bought some screenwash as mine ran out ages ago and I couldn't even clean it for most of those journeys as the water had frozen!
Then came home, had lunch, did some more jobs and read more of my book. Now just turned the oven on to heat up for dinner.
Did a meter reading and am only £20 in credit after being over £150 in credit not too long ago. Will be glad when it warms up a bit next week! Might have to send an additional payment to the energy supplier soon just for peace of mind.10 -

Lots of picking up and tidying. Merino wool quilt and mattress cover put in a clean corner and bed stripped.
Grateful for only the floor on one side of the bed still to do, easy food (early morning fridge raid), paper rubbish out to the bin, weather is clearing so hopefully I can get to the other bins tomorrow.8 -
Busy day here. Cleaned house ready for ds friends. Took them to trampoline park and then back here for pizza, games & movie night sleepover. Not naughty but all a bit boisterous and excitable. I don’t think we’ll do it again or maybe just 1 friend next time!!Very spendy day but ds party items paid out of items we sold in 2022.Bought a new cheap duvet but they all brought sleeping bags so did t need it but will use it camping. So looking forward to tomorrow. Will be relieved tonight is over and we can just decide where to watch the footy and prepare for ds actual birthday.Lightbulb moment - 17/08/2017 £17,033. Current CC debt £0.00 DFD 31/7/24 🥳. Gosh. I spent a lot of money yesterday. Must plan better for the next sprout day.
The only silver lining is that I had enough money to rob Peter to pay Paul! Even if I have lost those sinking funds / money earmarked for other things. Definitely a learning week, this one.
Grateful for a crisp sunny day to do the Christmas shopping. For wrapping everything that I have so far...just one delivery left to arrive. For using up the wrapping paper from last year. Call with my daughter, the strictly final and a good blub and mulled wine.

Good morning ⛅
Have had a quiet few days in hibernation, waiting out the cold. No snow here in the NW but really chilly.
Who still has snow? I'm jealous!!!
Am on track with my budget so far this month, though still feel guilty about actually spending what I have budgeted for. Must get over that one!!!
Thanks for the entry about enjoying December Apple - was lovely. And congrats on the new job!!!
