Today I am grateful for getting to the gym, for dh finding some buttercup syrup for dc, for a clean car, for all those twinkly lights out there, for a good book.

Evening turtlesAbsolutely manic day again today at work. On the plus side it stops me having any inkling of spending so have accrued another NSD. There's no sign of things slowing down at work but half our staff are off work for the holiday period so there's extra work to pick up for those who aren't off. I got stuck working on an emergency situation until 7.15 which meant I missed my booked pilates class, and have lost £9. Not the end of the world but just annoying. I think I might get an app on a week's trial instead and see how I get on, at least if I purchase it I can do sessions in my own time!
On the plus side, I got a lot done on my lunch break. On the down side, our little worktop dishwasher has broken. I've tried everything I can to try and fix it but to no avail currently. Have done lots of googling and apparently it needs to be taken apart by someone to find out what's wrong and parts are allegedly notoriously hard to find. Going to sit on that for a while and decide what to do with it as it may not be financially viable to fix, but I won't know unless I try. Not a priority right now.9 -

Grateful for family visiting from Oz, getting asked to babysit Aussie cousin’s DS while he and others went to see Paolo in Glasgow, for getting to spend time with youngest cousin who was also babysitting, for baby (my 2nd cousin) being adorable and easy to get to sleep, and grateful that I’ve still ‘got it’ when it comes to getting a baby to sleep 🤣NST 🐢 & MF before 40 🤸10

@ldee2111 I'm Scotland too, but North East islands.
Eventually prised myself out of bed! Did YWA & exercises. Quickly ate breakfast as remembered I had to give someone a lift to work & as DH had a hospital appointment & gone on the bus, I had to feed the cat & birds!
A very easy day at work. Pupil opened up about something going on in their life that I needed to pass along. Thankfully he doesn't feel that I broke his trust. Hoping that my passing it along hasn't made things more difficult for him. We laughed at lots of jokes together at the end of the day. Think the best one was:
What do you call a fake noodle?

Was late leaving work, after chatting with other staff. Ironed DS3's shirt, ready for his disco. As he couldn't find his own tie, he'd asked a teacher at his school if he'd got a spare one he could borrow! Good initiative, eh?! After dropping him off, I had a quick bath, then put a new zip in a coat, before chauffeur time again!
Grateful for a warmer day, beautiful scenery, DS looking so smart, the last day of work tomorrow 🎉🎉Use it up, wear it out

Morning turtles!
I racked up another NSD yesterday but won’t today. I have been trying to run down the cupboards especially as it’s just me at home (bf left for England on Mon) but decided I need some salad today for lunch after spending 2 days working my way through a batch of risotto.Yesterday I woke up early and meditated, and did some writing. I do love bf but it’s so nice to have the place to yourself isn’t it?! I can leave out my writing set up when he’s not there, so it’s easy to pick it up in the morning.Exercised at lunch, crosstrainer and treadmill. Bumped into circuits class teacher who gave us a little end of term report which was cute. Apparently my ability to exercise and talk at the same time needs improvement?! Colleagues were on good form. We had a little sing song that went on intermittently all day (the “I love you baby” song 😂)
got home and attempted to watch a Christmas film but couldn’t find any that took my fancy. Read a chapter of the plains of passage before bed and meditated for 10mins.
grateful for fun colleagues, for peace and quiet at home, for seeing a border collie this morning and remembering that cuddles with my mum’s are imminent!Have a wonderful day turtlesStudent loan £5655

No check in again last night - is anyone else on the chaise longue, I need to lie down. I have realised that the feeling weepy, sleeping a lot, starting strongly with good intentions and then hitting a slump in the afternoon and slight whistle when I breathe all mean that I am still ill. So I need yet another revision of my to do list.
I stopped in the middle of writing a letter to my cousin because my phone rang. Annoyingly it was very close but I couldn't find it (just made more of a mess tipping out the 2 bags I'd used most recently and tearing through the pile of stuff I was sorting. The phone stopped ringing and went into someone sending a text or voicemail chirrups.
So yesterday I continued my 'find the phone' quest which included moving the bed about a foot to the side to get at all the little places things can fall but I can't get my hands into. I did find the phone eventually and the eardrops I've been looking for for the past fortnight - I knew they'd fallen into the tiny gap between my bed and the chest of drawers (<2") but couldn't see them or find them with my fingers, so assumed they were further under the bed or drawers than I could get to. I've even considered going out to buy more (insert blue haired emoji).
Once I'd located the phone, I tried to find out who had called - the voicemail was from the EA but it must have been an old one. The pharmacy has just messaged to say my prescription will come today so it wasn't them either, but at least I have my phone. So, some progress with my room (the bit on the window side of the bed is excellent) and yet another revision and paring down of my to do list.
I need to do the last few Christmas cards - 2 to my cousins, or my female cousin will think I've fallen out with her again. For several years I sent her card to a totally garbled version of her address, as dictated by mum over the phone (you should have seen the list she gave me when my brother wanted to upgrade his Pink Floyd collection to cassettes he could play in the car - it's a good job I knew what he was talking about). My cousin's sister was still getting a card, so the cousin thought I'd fallen out with her. So those 2, 3 unsolicited ones and then I'll just write letters over the holidays to the 'ghosts of former girlfriends' and relatives I haven't seen since I was a child (but mum still sent them a Christmas card, so I had to get in touch when she died).
Other than that I need to get ready for travelling to DS1 and darling d-i-l's on Saturday
1 Wrap puppy's present
2 wash mask and hose, change all the filters, find somewhere else to put all the spares and have my CPAP bag ready to travel (the bag's excellent for travelling but useless for everyday)
3 Bring all the clean clothes upstairs, decide which I want to take (how few I can cope with), the definitely not taking are the things I will wear for now
4 I want to come back to a properly made up bed and a comfy space (may have to give up on my couch downstairs). I need the paperwork under control and ready to start the last few bits of winding up mum's estate, it's driving me up the wall.
5 I need the brown bin out for collection and to be able to walk across the kitchen (threw some stuff outside yesterday)
6 Use up anything perishable and complete the cleaning of the fridge-freezers
Loads of other things in various stages of need/ want doing but I need to work within my limits (or I'll make myself really ill). I can do forward planning when I'm at DS1's (distance lends clarity). I always found the lull between Boxing Day and New Year a good time for moving things out of my old diary and notebooks - the children would be occupied with new toys, my 'running buffet' plan meant all meals were sorted and I actually had time to sit, read, embroider, watch the telly in peace and cogitate and plan.
I need to be downstairs by 10 am (pill delivery 10 am - 5 pm and some other deliveries due) so shower, pills, eat, put some clothes on, pack bag with essentials.
Grateful for finding my phone and ear drops, making some progress, relaxing with a series when I slumped.8 -

Yesterday and today are NSDs so think I’ve reached 10/15.
Just had a normal day yesterday with ds final footy training of the year. Very cold but glad he had a run about he really enjoyed it.
Today worked from home and tonight I have a date night with DH. We are going to Chester Cathedral to watch a Michael Buble tribute act with a big band. Can’t wait!! I bought the tickets in September so DH will pay the parking and any refreshments. He also bought my friend some flowers as she is looking after ds.DS last day in school tomorrow. He is shattered so he’ll be glad of a lie in on Friday!Finances a bit out of control but should be ok - just! It’s frightening how the little bits add up!Lightbulb moment - 17/08/2017 £17,033.
