Because in my experience they usually do the service first to catch/fix minor things that'd cause MOT issues, and would potentially have told you it'd fail the MOT on the tyre before doing the test to give you the chance to fix it.
All the garages I have dealt with recently do it the other way round. MOT first. If it fails, they know what they need to fix while doing the service.
Of course on newer cars you know you will get it sorted out so will make no difference apart from having fails which don't look good when you want to sell on.No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?1 -

I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....

See below summary of my recent 1st experience with Asda Tyres. Such a shame they could take responsibility and refund £10 to gain a happy customer.
Customer Complaint Escalation Request
Customer Details:
- Name: Customer A
Incident Summary:
- A new tyre was fitted on a loose wheel by an Asda-approved fitter.
- Upon attempting to fit the tyre to the trailer, the tyre pressure dropped to 20psi, indicating a fault with the valve.
- The garage claims valves are not replaced unless faulty and initially deemed the valve functional.
- Upon return, the fitter charged £10 to replace the faulty valve.
Customer's Request:
- Customer A believes the valve should have been replaced during the initial fitting, aligning with standard industry practice, and thus, the additional £10 charge should be refunded.
- Requests escalation to a senior representative within Asda Tyres to resolve the issue and refund the £10 paid to the fitter for the valve replacement.
Customer's Arguments:
- Standard practice typically includes a new valve when fitting a new tyre, as confirmed by another Asda-approved fitter (SETYRES Tonbridge).
- Asda should be responsible for ensuring quality service by their approved fitters and should address the additional charge incurred due to the fitter's oversight.
Resolution Sought:
- Refund of the £10 charged for the valve replacement.
- Assurance that Asda Tyres will enforce standard fitting practices, including the replacement of valves if necessary, to prevent future issues.
