Hope your day was ok in the end. Good luck to DD in getting the car."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee2

Thanks Jwil, Dancing, FS and Daisy
Picked up the patches on the way home. These ones last for seven days instead of needing changing twice a week. Will see how I go on.
DD still needs to pass her test - so mum's taxi still required... baby steps...
One day left until the weekend! This week has been super busy at work but in it's own way that's been good.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Yesterday I used a £2 Mr A voucher towards £2.50 orange tulips. They are beautiful.
Today a regular saver matured and gave me £39.30 interest. It all helps. I'm using £1.6K of that towards DD's car once she's chosen one. The rest - £139.30 will top up my other savings where it will get a higher rate.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

I sent £50 to savings yesterday. £25 today. I received over £21 in interest today. I've moved my matured reg saver and transferred £165 of it into a 5% account. I am debating whether to open new savings accounts and if so which. While I'm deciding I've got 1.5% on a current account and up to 3% on another couple of savers... My B saver is almost full. So unless I open an FD account again either Ll or a new H account will be my next focus.
I think at £5,777 (plus DD's car £) this is the most I've ever had in savings especially with minimal to no CC debt. Currently £170 which will be cleared again in 2 weeks. I have more than that in 'float' in my current accounts anyway which cancels out the latter.
In theory DS will start paying me back at £25 per month from April with a view to increasing that once his EF is more established. I plan to use that £ towards my summer holiday. I am still debating how much to spend on that, when is best to go and with whom and exactly where. For affordability reasons I'd need a cottage rather than B&B. If I go with DS though while it will make the driving side of things a breeze it's likely to increase my costs (as we'd want separate rooms) and I don't think he's in a position to pay much towards it. I would hope he could cover the equivalent of his food as he'd have to pay that wherever he was.
Would be a lot easier to enjoy the summer if I manage to shed some weight. My food has been better this week but further to go. May have lost a couple of pounds - but I fluctuate up and down quite quickly so getting it down and keeping it off is key.
It doesn't look like the car thing is happening today as I don't think DD and BIL finalised the arrangements - once I have confirmation - I may go out for the day.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030
