Thanks Tahlullah - just hoping it will be a good runner.
Well the handyman came and did a good job. He finished digging up the bamboo and cleared weeds for me too. He'll come back in a couple of weeks and do some other odd jobs.
I mixed some compost and perlite and loaded up my seed trays and some other cardboard type pots. I've now sown some peas, beans, dill, lemon grass, artichokes, purple basil, coriander, broccoli, eggplant... Will see what comes up. I still have 3 trays to use within a propagator type thing... but not sown them yet...
Last night I struggled to sleep as I felt I couldn't breathe. I put it down to my weight - but DD has been having a severe pollen reaction so I think it is more likely to be that - which I only realised today. Mostly stayed inside today - but I've taken some antihistamine and ibuprofen as I have a bit of a sore throat. May do a covid test before I travel to see family on Sunday. I've put the heating on a little today - as I'm less tolerant of cold when I feel under par.
Been doing some more colouring recently which has been enjoyable. I stick my colouring into my journal though - which makes them use up much more quickly which is a bit of a shame - but the plus side is if I go back and re-read they are more beautiful. Coloured while listening to B Brown's book on emotions... Very thought provoking.
I made a lovely roast beef dinner today. DD ate other stuff - but enough for leftovers for her and me tomorrow - and probably more meat besides. Will need to do more roasties after tomorrow though.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

I paid £100 for my first car - loved it!
Hope you are feeling better today.
Roast sounds fab, we've got a beef joint for this weekend as well.

Still struggling with allergies and sleep still disrupted. Sadly, despite the nice weather trying to stay in as don't want allergies to get worse.
Had a haircut and colour today which was nice. Then went to my fave Italian for spag bol. Brought a portion back to enjoy another day. A bit of self care for me. Have over-spent this month but it impacts float / savings rate rather than anything more serious.
I've booked an Optician's appointment. Apparently with VE I can get a 20% online discount which would be amazing - so ironically - probably need to have test and come away to get discount. I'll discuss with them on Monday. I can reclaim £155 anyway. My left eye seems fine but my right eye seems to have a problem long distance - so fine together but not if you do the one eye covered test. That is likely to majorly impact planned savings for the next couple of months but it's self care so important.
Hope you are having a good time where you are. DD and I are going to see wider family tomorrow which is a bit of trek. Hope we're both feeling more perky by then!!Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Hope you are having a good family day savingholmes and a safe journey. VE are really good with discount if you ask them in-store. I used the 50% off a second pair last time and bought some prescription sunnies, and then ended up buying another pair of non-prescription sunglasses and contact lenses. You're right its good to have that self care. Don't forget you can earn nectar points too.
Another one here who has overspent - seems strange saying that when we have our emergency funds, but its all in PBs so its easy to forget about it and good for being not tempted to dip into it. May is going to be a low spend month for me in terms of personal spends - but I have so many books and things to do it will probably be a good thing."Think of many things, do one"
