Thanks Jwil, FS, Skint, Beanie, Lucielle, Tahlullah and HSL. Always lovely to come back to posts. Very grateful for the savings. Keep having to resist temptation....
Just after I posted BIL rocked up with the kids. He'd told DD he was coming but not me - and she hadn't communicated either. I had a lovely time with the littlies - fishing leaves out of my pond, doing crafts and then going to a park and onto a lake on a little boat. We were all worn out by the time we got back. BIL had bought some food to make for tea which I supplemented with some gammon.
DD has put a deposit down on a car - which is having a service, mot and a couple of niggles fixed and then should be hers this coming weekend.
Mortgage went out today - so around £656 came off the principal.
I have a meeting at 10. Glad it's a short week this week and next - and then I'm on my holidays for a week.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Thanks WD. Finished early today - had no concentration. Think will go into the office tomorrow to break up the week. Beautiful day outside - need to make myself go out in it!
I need to clear some stuff out my car - and then preferably buy some more soil and bark... I then need to get seeds planted. I did put another load of soil in a raised bed last week but there's a long way to go! Garlic still growing well. Want to plant some sprouting potatoes today - and then that's at least one job done...
I unpacked and packed the dishwasher earlier. Also done a load of washing. Need to get it hung out to dry. Need to buy a couple of replacement retractable washing lines too.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Glad you had a nice weekend. Hope you manage to get out in the sun."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee3

Fantastic savings, haven't taken you long in the grand scheme of things and you've done a lot along the way too.
Glad to hear DD has a car sorted out, one less thing going on in the background.
Maybe there's a one bed property with a sofa bed in the lounge, which could keep holiday costs down.Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.3 -

Thanks Jwil, MF, Skint and Swaying...
Yes I'm really looking forward to when she passes. More freedom for both of us.
I topped up my fuel today to make sure it lasts me to payday for £28. I also went and bought some extra food £22 even though I had a delivery coming £60... Keep adjusting my budget... I have spent what feels a lot on food. I'm really into a certain hazelnut choc spread again having had it on my waffle a couple of weeks back... Drizzled over strawberries, icecream and chopped nuts...
Window cleaner came today so that took all my spare cash and I still owed him 80p!
Mowed a quarter of the lawn and then the battery ran out... Now on charge will try again another day.
