Thanks MFD, EH, Beanie, DIA, MF, Jwil, Blackcats, Humdinger1 and Merlin
You are all great encouragers. My body seems to approve of my improved diet even though I've only made small changes so far. Body balance is weight bearing in that you use your own body weight as part of the exercises...
I made myself go out for a walk yesterday lunchtime - and am going to go out for a brief walk shortly.
My chiropractor £ has already been refunded which is nice. I've therefore cleared that CC again. I've received a £40 Am**** gift card from £co. I'm hoping that will help me stay in budget more easily this month - and make up for how much I spent last weekend.
I'm due to see a sis and her family this weekend - so I get to entertain littlies again. DD will be off doing her own thing...
Hope you are all well and have a lovely weekend.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Thanks Lucielle and Beanie.
Just been for a walk. The air was damp and there was a breeze but I mostly enjoyed it. I was certainly proud of myself for going.

Thanks Beanie
I spent a chunk of time Saturday and Sunday on my memoir type project... I'm finding it cathartic so far - and am being careful to take breaks and not over-face myself - particularly on days when I'm working.
I also went to see my sister on Sunday and helped in the garden - sat on a stool for much of it - but still progress made. DD seemed to enjoy her weekend too.
I've also got into reading fiction again so plenty of light relief. I unpacked and packed the dishwasher today. I was in work which was a shock to the system with the clock change. I was a few mins late but was forgiven thankfully. Had a good day overall.
My £10 rewards voucher came off this months phone bill so that was nice. I've overspent on food and Easter though so not planning to direct extra to savings. Still owe £170 on holiday / theatre. Debating whether to book handyman - but would prefer if started from next month rather than this... Will see how it goes. I need to buy more compost at some point... I completely overspent on hobbies the previous pay period so this month I've added the £co voucher to Am**** but am trying to save it towards next month's subs rather than having unnecessary spends.
Waiting to find out what interest I earned on roughly £1700 as it matures at the end of this month. I need a new savings account soon - although will feed Ll first as it's over 5%. My B one is nearly full. Debating whether to open an FD acct again for the interest on savings... £25 is still due to go to savings around 1/4 but given it will have matured by then don't know if it will just end... If it ends may just pay into B instead. One of my others reg savers isn't due to end until June/July I think.
I feel blessed... I was reading one person's diary though and they were planning to dedicate pretty much their whole wage to pension savings and live on one wage. It's a good way to go if you can...

Well done on the savings. I definitely agree that putting that much aside to pension is a good idea.Debt on 01 July 2022 = £42,083.00
Debt on 01 January 2023 = £37,075.87 (-£5,007.13)
Debt on 01 January 2024 = £24,922.36 (-£12,153.51)
Debt:
01 January 2024 = £24,922.36, 01 February = £24,170.95, 01 March = £23,298.44, 01 April = £22,424.83
Current debt free date = 01 July 2026.3 -
Thanks Daisy. Wish it was possible for me. Wish I'd been a better money manager years ago. Can only go forward from here as they say. My pension provision is better than most thanks to DB elements.
Still struggling with the clocks having changed. Feel like I'm wading through treacle trying to concentrate. Finished early today but have two hours to make up this week before end of year... If I do roughly 40 minutes a day for the next 3 days I'll be sorted though.
Looks like DD is going car shopping with BIL on Saturday - so may be parting with a portion of my savings soon. He may give my sis a break and bring 3 littlies here for me to entertain. Wide eyed frog look. Eeek! The hardest thing is they are restricted on foods due to allergies and are also really high energy!! Hope the weather is kind. If it is they can fish leaves and other stuff out of my pond... Perhaps also do more seed sowing.
I need to make myself do more exercise. My free trial ended and I couldn't see where to cancel so it has rolled over and I'm now paying. Didn't notice - but payment went out on the 22nd which was a bit annoying. Hopefully I can use it as a spur to do something though. Need to make myself mow the lawn - before it gets too long.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030
