Thanks HSL
Had an enjoyable work day in the office - plus coffee out with my boss which was fun. My boss comes pretty high up my gratitude list. Grateful for my work family. Had some nice chats with people - as well as getting stuff done.
DD has gone elsewhere overnight so time just for me. Another blessing.
I'm trying to use yesterday's chiro appointment as a wake up a call. I need to improve my health and fitness and invest in myself more. Had porridge today, jacket spud, cheese and beans for lunch. Had a banana and 3 clementines. I got Mother's Day chocs from the kids so I've still got some treats. I'm going to try and focus on improving the 'quality' of what I eat - and aim to reduce my snacks rather than anything more radical.
Did a Mr A shop. Spent £28 so better than normal. Ideally I need to make a spag bol with some mince I defrosted - but I got in late so just ate a shop bought curry with jacket spud and peas for tea. I bought sausages and a couple of ready meals (keeping it real). I also bought mackerel (3 fillets), lettuce, tomatoes, spring onions, baby peppers, clementines, bananas and pomegranate seeds. Also got coleslaw. I will split the sausages into portions and freeze most but they are a useful quick back up meal. Grateful I can buy what I need.
Would like to do some batch cooking. Bought some pre-chopped veg to make it easier to start. If I can prepare some spag bol / chilli / cottage pie type meals that will help. I've unpacked and packed the dishwasher. Ideally I want to put the fridge shelves in the dishwasher and get them all clean but need to wait for this load first unless I hand wash them...
My cat has just insisted on a cuddle / stroke fest and is purring away having groomed my hand!! He's so soft and fluffy! When we got him as a rescue years ago his fur was horribly coarse so it's a sign of how much better he's doing. Another gratitude.
Hope you're having a good week.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Lots of good things happening. I'm with you on trying to improve the quality of my diet."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee3

There's a lot of positive things going on and that church was impressive.
Take on board what the chiro said. Even if you postpone him for 6 months while finding a routine which works for you and makes a difference, you'll receive his advice and structure to compliment what you've started.
Split hols with DD and DS sound fun, but an occasional shared trip would give all of you bonding time, new memories and bring the family unit closer.Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.5 -
Holiday plans sound good - if DD wants to join you and DS that might be nice and if DS is doing the driving that might open up opportunities for them to do things together which would give you some quiet time alone.
it sounds like the chiropractor could be very important for your health and well being. Remember to prioritise yourself and invest in yourself

Yes re @Blackcats comments on prioritising yourself! You are the maypole they all dance around so treat yourself as the precious resource you are. Love Humdinger xx4

Interesting to read about your chiropractor. I saw an osteopath and going back to swimming and starting either yoga or Pilates were his suggestions too. A bone density scan has been on my radar too.If you have built castles in the air, your work should not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them

Swimming is just an incredibly good exercise - and suits so many people too! Remember though it shouldn't be an "instead of" weight bearing exercise, and definitely not for women of the sort of age where bone density scans start being mentioned!
A good bit of advice I saw a while ago from a nutritionist was "think about adding to your diet, rather than cutting things out of it" - her view was that adding more fruit, veg, oily fish and wholegrains etc is the best way to go as it focuses on including more of the good stuff rathe than trying to cut out the tasty treats that we enjoy. I want to try to get more fish into our diet this year - we don't really eat enough of it so I'm going to start thinking properly about trying to make at least one meal a week fish based.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Just another note the weight bearing exercise is good to prevent osteoporosis and promote bone health. And mood health... ( I think I'm talking to myself too as my formal exercise has reduced to twice a week and a more aerobic programme in these last months). Thank goodness for ytube vidoes - fabulous 50s is my current go to
I love snacking unfortunately - baby bel light , cheese and crackers for supper (seriously light spread) have become a staple - added fibre if you choose a dense fibre cracker.Mortgage restart June 2018 £119950Re mortgage August 19 £110470, … Mortgage November 22 £85600 final 0% CC 3300Home renovations - £65000, mid 2018 - mid 20225
