badmemory said:Pity she can't have the shingles jab until she's 70 (at present anyway). Once you have had it it is likely you will get it again & the older you are the more painful it gets for some reason.Poor DD SH - no wonder she’s feeling rough - just tonsillitis on its own is plenty bad enough. I really hope she’s on the mend soon.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Thanks Beanie, WD, TH, Skint, Leigh, Jwil, Lucielle, EH and BM. Yes - I read it's unlikely that you get it more than twice though. At least she had had chickenpox as a kid.
I've been exhausted all week - combination of the weekend away and travel and it's manic at work. I was at the dentist this morning for appointment 1 of 2 for my bridge. At least I paid for it before Xmas so it's not hanging over me now.
Today has been a tough day for lots of reasons. It was lovely to come back to so many posts!Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

well done for soldiering through a lot of stuff SH, and hope your DD recovers swiftly - if it had to happen at all better now than later.
For the chicken pox itch we used the trick of filling the legs of some stocking/tights with oats and using a loofah. can't remember all the details as it sounds very messy but I recall it was soothing - there's only so much camomile lotion you can use. This may be truer for small kids - ours were reception age . https://www.google.com/search?q=chicken+pox+-+stocking+oatsI think I saw you in an ice cream parlour

It’s always hard when someone around you is poorly too isn’t it - you worry far more about them than you, and that’s stressful in itself. Hopefully you’re lined up to have a restful weekend?🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Sorry to hear about your poorly DD - I hope that she improves soon.
the weekend is nearly here so you might have an opportunity to re-charge your own batteries too.

Thanks Mark and EH and Blackcats - life is just hard sometimes.
I did more travelling yesterday so will need to refuel - which will take me over budget on fuel. My food budget is shot this month. Still 2.5 weeks until pay day. I need to make more use of what's in my FF and tin cupboard. Hopefully I can do some batch cooking over the weekend and that will then help.
I have just blown my budget a little further as I've just booked to go to ballet tonight!! Need to rush round and get out the house and get there now! My first ballet other than village performances as a kid... A bucket list item...
