KK - I am sure like all of us you are up and down - but when you binge read a diary - you get more of a feel for the direction of travel. I feel I've stalled for the last few months getting my house ready for sale and then marketing it - and now I have catching up to do relatively speaking on the savings front. I reckon I've spent £1-1.5K on that which would otherwise have gone into savings. My house is much nicer to live in as a result though. I've kept up the auto-pension AVCs but in general feel like I've spent rather a lot even if it could be justified!
I've booked swims for tomorrow and Friday in the outdoor pool towards the end of the work day. Hoping I can make myself go. I've booked Thursday off so excited about that. I slept badly last night but think that was because I didn't go for a walk - so want to make myself do something tonight. I still haven't done anything with my refunds/returns. May ask my cleaner to help tomorrow with the Am**** bit.
Really hope the viewing goes ahead Saturday and that I get the right result. It's a horrible market currently. So uncertain and doomsayers aren't helping. If the offers are too low I just won't sell though unless I get a stunning deal on someone else's property. It's that hidden dynamic which makes it harder - as I could accept an offer - not find anything and end up backing out anyway. Or I could get a major discount on another house and it all work out.
So far these tablets have been fine. I felt quite stressed at lunchtime - but I had a task hanging over me. I burned some lavender incense and it helped - although DD came in to do her washing and complained bitterly about the 'fog' and the smell. I enjoyed it though. I felt much better again by the end of the day. The compulsion to eat/binge eat has subsided - but I don't know if that's the tablet or the incense or both. I find because the incense messes with my taste buds it can really reduce my snacking.
My fave work person is due back tomorrow which should help too.
Hope you're all making the most of the sun while it's here.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Thank you for that comment @savingholmes, that’s really positive feedback to hear 😊
I meanwhile, am in utter awe at your ability to declutter! Serious, seriously impressive! 👏😊
I hope the viewing is helpful on Saturday - I kind of get the feeling that you have a somewhat uncertainty of vision that is making it hard for you to move forward. It’s like the scales are so finely balanced you don’t have a clear idea of what you really want. Apologies if I have completely misread your situation.Interesting that the incense reduces your inclination to binge eating. Will have a think on that …. 🤔
Oh, and fwiw, I have an Am3x card for work and feel like I need a PHD in security clearances and computer science every time I try to pay off the bill! Hateful system. The useless thing is barely accepted anywhere as well! I have often wondered why they are so popular with employers …? Do they get some kind of incentive for employees signing up to them?

I do feel for you selling in this rather uncertain market. It's stressful enough at the best of times! I hope the right person will come along soon - but whatever happens, you've done a truly amazing job of decluttering and making the house into a nicer home for yourself. As you say, the advantage of the current market is that you might be able to get more of a bargain purchase without fighting off several other buyers - fingers crossed.
It's nice to see so many other people on here who hate large gatherings - I am another of those
Enjoy the swims. There is something so nice and relaxing about being in an outdoor pool - if you can force yourself to go after work!5 -

Another one here who struggles with large gatherings - by the end of the week at the beer festival I had thoroughly reached overwhelm and I sneaked off from the staff party and sat at the far end of the hall with a couple of others just quietly chatting - felt like I was recharging!
On the house viewings thing, you don't need to be on standby for "same day" viewings - nobody expects it and the only one we had that offered on we slightly felt that they must be a bit desperate...we couldn't do same day anyway as we'd assumed it would be the following weekend.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Written last night
It's funny that so many of you hate crowds (like me).
I made myself go for the swim - by that point I'd had well enough of work and finished nearly an hour earlier than originally planned. DD and her BF were already there so I chatted to them a little. I did fewer lengths than normal but still a result compared to not going.
I've blown up a ring to take with me to the beach (it's a shallow one if I go to my usual one) and put the compressor on charge. I need to dig out some sun cream / spray too. I'm going to buy food on the way. Will see how tired I am in the morning whether I go to my fave beach or not. Must remember a hat. All earphones have been recharged. Smart watch on charge too. I bought a couple of books to read on the beach - unless I listen to them instead. Will have to see if I can find my sundome thing but it was more trouble than it was worth last time. I have a feeling I may have binned it. The swim shorts and tankini set I wore earlier are now in the drier.
I fell down the RM rabbit hole after that. Still not really seeing what I want. Another house that's way overpriced has come up in the valley I want but it's unaffordable by at least £50K. I also looked at a house with lovely views that up for £175K - detached 2 bed bungalow - but it's further from work. Compared to here though as c£300K - if I went for that I could knock £100K off my mortgage and potentially pay that off in full within 7 years. My brain is still jumping between the different options... Friends and relatives trying to talk me into staying.
Today
I found the sundome, a sand mat, suncream etc. Just put some water in the freezer - as I also have a cool box. The refund from Sh311 has arrived so will pay that straight off CC (£243). I paid £130 yesterday too so getting there.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030
