I agree with @beanielou I'm not one for driving in cities either, well done for that!"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee3

I've spent most of today in my PJ's decompressing and journalling. Someone made me laugh yesterday as they said they didn't know why I'd said to DD's BF there'd be lots of drama as there wasn't any shouting and there normally isn't either.
There was so much drama yesterday it was unreal. Picking DS up and dropping off at random stations added at least 2 hours extra travel compared with normal. I was practically shaking at one point due to the inner city traffic. Two of the people there are currently 'at war' etc etc. Someone with severe food allergies was fed an allergic substance having been promised it was 'clean' and was worried it could hospitalise them and so on. Naturally it continued into today with another couple of warring family members telling the other side of the story. In a way they were both right and ironically they both felt their needs were ignored and overlooked. I'd like to tell them the real problem wasn't yesterday it was childhood that they need to go back and heal but then they'd hold up a mirror so... I just tried to listen and affirm them.
Another family member didn't believe in neurodiversity as anything other than a strength and were in complete denial as to their own symptoms to the point it was almost funny. Shouldn't have to face that again until Xmas now... Joy...
I took my meds today and didn't feel any difference. It could be because it was a first dose or could be because I start on a low dose and build up. I finally got dressed after 8pm and made myself go for a long walk and picked up a few bits of groceries on the way. I rested on some low walls along the route but proud of self for doing it.
Ideally tomorrow I need to parcel up 4 dresses and return them to Am**** - should then get close to £100 refunded to my card which will be positive. I then also need to return £56 of clothes to Sainsbugs. I did keep a £20 top I bought this week and a £7 one.
Will try and catch up on a few diaries now before bed.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

It’s amazing how much people miss the ‘drama’ isn’t it. I suspect that they are fundamentally lacking empathy so don’t understand when someone is expressing distress.Btw, I see nothing wrong with telling someone that they need to go back and heal their childhood if that is what is sticking out at you like a sore thumb. If you get the response that you need to do that, you can honestly say that you are. You don’t need to give them any details of your process.I’m glad you managed to have a decompression day, sounds like you needed it. I suspect that being so keyed up / tired after the event is masking the effect of the tablets and they will take a while to have an effect too.
Hoping you can have a gentle day today.KKAs at 15.08.25:

Thanks KK - I think you hit the nail on the head there.
It looks like a gorgeous day today outside - naturally - on a day I'm due to work as opposed to the almost non-stop rain of the weekend. Unfortunately there's some sort of loud machine noise outside. Not sure what it is. Hope it doesn't last all day.
I feel a bit more myself today. A key person is back in work tomorrow and then I think things may get a little easier.
Last night's walk was the longest I've done in a while so proud of myself for that. I really hope I can get my eating under control this next year and get fitter and healthier. Part of that has to be becoming more active...
Need to try and make myself sort the refunds and returns today.
Hope the sun is shining where you are.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

At least it’s all over now SH, I hate busy social things - this surprises people due to my job - but I am happier outdoors with a couple of people no crowds. I have a do next month that will last a couple of days and I am dreading it.Mortgage OP 2025 £6250/7000Mortgage OP 2024 £7700/7000
