I’m confused. I got £250 plus £10 from the Govt today. I get the basic state pension, as does my husband, who also got £10 today. Is the £250 made up of the standard £100 plus £150 extra this year, and will my husband also get £250?
Exactly so. Your husband should also get the £10 Christmas bonus and £250 WFP.
Information I post is for England unless otherwise stated. Some rules may be different in other parts of UK.

We are due the £500 sometime before January along with the £150.
In effect the credit balance would then go up to £1102.
The Winter fuel payment of £500 will not appear on your fuel bill balance. The WFP is paid into your bank account.
I'm not clear which £150 payment you are referring to.
The £500 will be paid to the fuel company as a one-off payment when I get it. I have always done it that way.
  • Still no sign of my 500 quid. Tried to ring the Pension Service to find out when it might arrive, but there's no longer any facility to speak to a real person, only recorded messages that cut you off once finished. The DWP are in crisis, I reckon, having become the channel for so many aspects of the government's cost of living assistance programme and almost certainly without being given any further resources. What irks me most, shallow character that I am, is that my sister in law, who has more money in the bank than Croesus, received her 500 nicker about 3 weeks ago, and yet this church mouse is still waiting.

Still no sign of my 500 quid.
    See https://www.gov.uk/winter-fuel-payment/when-youll-get-paid
Most payments are made automatically in November or December.
You’ll get a letter in October or November telling you:
    • how much you’ll get
    • which bank account it will be paid into - this is usually the same account as your State Pension or other benefits
If you’ve not been paid by 13 January 2023, check your account before you contact the Winter Fuel Payment Centre.
It's only early December at the moment so there's still a lot of the payment period left.

I do agree about the DWP being in crisis - along with most public bodies.

Thanks for that. I am aware of the government guidance and timescales, but I'm an impatient soul and very keen to get my hands on the lolly before our energy company ratchets up our direct debit payment.

There's another scheme which involves the distribution by the Welsh government of a pot of money ( around 90 million quid) and which allows people on certain benefits to claim an additional £200 help. I don't study this website religiously every day so I've no idea whether anyone's mentioned it, but I'll post the details of that scheme elsewhere on here in case anyone's missed it.

They are still within the usual timescales for payment to be made. Like everyone else who hasn't received it, you'll need to wait.

My Dad received his Winter Fuel Payment 10 days ago and Mum’s payment appeared in her bank account yesterday.   They are at the same address.

The payments do seem to be happening in phases and only the Gov will know the order they are being processed in.

I suppose I was spoilt last year. Being my first year of eligibility for the WFP and not even realising that I qualified, I experienced the delight of £200 turning up in my bank account out of the blue. This year, nothing but impatience, disappointment and regret that I'm not one of those in the first tranche. Boo Hoo.

Apologies again for raising another WFP query but I posted up stream a bit about a letter I received saying that I would be paid £500 WFP instead of the £250 each that myself and my wife received a letter about previously.

As I didn't have any information relating to the reason for the change we decided to wait and see exactly what we were paid.

I have now had £500 paid into my account and my wife has so far received no payment. (We have both had individual £10.00 xmas bonus payments).

As we are financially no better or worse off (we normally pool the WFP anyway). I am inclined to leave things as they, but does this situation indicate possible future problems with how our accounts are perceived at DWP?
