Yes. It’s an increased WFP payment.
Information I post is for England unless otherwise stated. Some rules may be different in other parts of UK.

The £300? If so, it is.

Yes, my understanding is that the COL is being paid simply as an additional amount of winter fuel allowance, so they come together as a single payment.

How much was stated on the original letter? It should have included the additional amount that was paid on top.

As posted above, £600 is the amount with the additional payment added. For someone aged 80+ and living alone it normally would be £300.

Apologies for asking yet another question regarding WFP.
Me and my wife are both in receipt of state pension, as expected we both received a letter dated end of October confirming our eligibility to WFP of £250 each - made up as I understand it of standard payment of £200 plus enhanced payment of £300 both split between us, so £250 each.

We have not yet been paid this benefit but today I received a second letter from DWP saying :-

'The information we hold about you was updated recently. This has changed the WFP you can get for Winter 2022/2023.

We told you that you would be paid £250. We can now pay you £500.'

I don't really understand why this has changed. My wife has not (yet) received a second letter.

    Thanks in advance
