Do you get pension Credit? If so it appears you will get one payment of £500.
Of course the latest letter may simply be incorrect.

No, don't receive pension credit. Perhaps I should just wait and see how much I actually get paid before raising it as an issue.

    Thanks

The sooner you get it you will spend it.

What will you use to pay the bills oin the new year when it has been spent.

If you are not going to spend it now, then there is no need for it to be paid now.

The fact it is called a winter fuel  payment would indicate it is for fuel bills.
Still a legitimate question to ask though, isn't it? The WFP and the additional COL grant will represent a vital part of the winter income for a lot of people. If you happen to be one of those for whom the payment is sent later rather than sooner, it could mean going into debt, so well worth trying to find out when it'll be paid. As it happens I still haven't had mine, but I'm hopefully that Santa works at the DWP and rather than holding it back to check how many folks can do without it, he will send it out soon, wrapped in tinsel and guaranteed to provide comfort and joy.

No sign of my WFP yet, but I have had notification from my bank that I will be paid £10.00 Christmas bonus on Monday.

Had my WFP last week -  safely tucked away, together with 2 x £66 and now 1 x £67  in a Savings Account ready for the big gas bill

My fuel bill was paid by DD on the 20th of November. My next one is due on the 20th of December. After the November payment I am told that our account stands at £452 in credit which is the norm because it is built up in the summer months. We are due the £500 sometime before January along with the £150.
In effect the credit balance would then go up to £1102.
I have no idea what will happen after next April, so I am doing my best to protect us.
It really doesn't matter when the £500 and £150 payments come in as our budget pays enough to cover the winter monthly usage.

The Winter fuel payment of £500 will not appear on your fuel bill balance. The WFP is paid into your bank account.
I'm not clear which £150 payment you are referring to.

I'm thinking this would be the WHD?

That makes sense in the context of the thread. Having a senior moment!

I’m confused. I got £250 plus £10 from the Govt today. I get the basic state pension, as does my husband, who also got £10 today. Is the £250 made up of the standard £100 plus £150 extra this year, and will my husband also get £250?
