I don’t have heating on, don’t have tumble dryer and don’t really use much at all in the day. It’s odd.Your estimated annual gas consumption of 12146kWh is fairly typical, but your electricity consumption of 5882kWh day and 3656kWh night is roughly three times that used by a typical dual-fuel household.These values are based on estimates, so actual meter readings will help make them more accurate.N. When you say you are submitting your electricity reads are you submitting TWO readings - one for day and one for night.
If you agree with the estimates then for a gas heated house your consumption is very high. Don't say what appliances you haven't got - what do you have ? Think electric shower, heating, cooking, gaming PC's, pond pumps, fish tanks .......... ignore your phone chargersNever pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill1 -
We rent and have been here for 3 years so the house possibly had economy 7 heating in the past. I don’t have long electric showers however that sounds nice. No floodlights or anything else. I have pc on during the day as work from home and occasionally tv. In evening we probably run two baths and have one shower in total. No heating on. Also two gaming pcs on in evening. That’s about it other than cooking0

For the same time last year it was 2939kWh. That has all the makings of estimated readings gone astray. You'll get more useful advice if you can give us your actual readings now.

any chance you can take a couple of pictures of your meter and show us what you submit?BevBeaver said:Thanks. As I have said I read my meters monthly and submit the readings online to EDF. Despite this they don’t put them on- not sure why. The bill pictured is estimated but I checked the readings and they are pretty much the same. I will have a look into where I am
using energy as I am
baffled. Thanks again for all advice.
im not suggesting you are doing anything wrong but only ask because on a differnt thread some people with two rates for electric were submitting the reading from the wrong screens (submitting day as night or giving the total as day) or didn't see the decimal point so were giving to many numbers. thats an easy thing for us to check and rule out.
then if you have been giving regular readings then can you give us a set of actual readings from about 12 months ago so we can work out your annual use inc winter?
going from there we can help you get edf to correct the readings if there wrong or help you figure out if the meter is faulty or find whats using all the energy

It has long been the case that even when actual readings are provided that some suppliers will adjust (estimate) the meter readings when billing. Zog used to do this unless an actual reading was provided on the billing date. One would hope that the statement would show, say, an actual reading on the 27th and an estimated reading for billing on the 30th: not all suppliers appear to do this.0
