Octopus Saving Session

Always 1-4 hours before the event so 5am-8am this time.
I reckon national grid have realised people know how to play the game now and also are aware that it's more difficult early in the morning. Not so many are going to be up "batch cooking" at 5am. They have committed to run a certain number of tests and it probably costs them less in rewards with the morning sessions.Barnsley, South Yorkshire

You’re probably right. It’s a very early start for someone who isn’t a morning person😊.I think I’ve set washing machine up for a delayed start but never done it before, it’s an old machine & instructions are filed away somewhere. Hope to fit in 2 or 3 loads & possibly some drying.Much too early to think about cooking though.0

I prep the batch cooking, washing machine, the car, in advance in the evening. Then wake up few minutes before 5, load the oven and turn everything on. For us it is about 1 hour earlier start than normal, but suitably rewarded with a £30 or soGas: warm air central heating, instant water heater, Octopus tracker

I managed 31.45kWh in that three hours and it will be zero for 9AM to 10AM. No energy taken that wouldn't have been drawn anyway, and most of it saved for later in batteries.I am not a financial adviser and neither do I play one on television. I might occasionally give bad advice but at least it's free.
Like all religions, the Faith of the Invisible Pink Unicorns is based upon both logic and faith. We have faith that they are pink; we logically know that they are invisible because we can't see them.0 -

Weird... another Anticipated Requirement Notice just published for tomorrow. I wouldn't get excited for this one though, I'd imagine it's a limited onboarding test so Octopus won't take part given we've already had our 2 for the month - we'll find out for sure at 2:30pm.

Well, the oven was overdue a Pyro, the dishwasher was ready for a 65°c cycle, there was one load of laundry left to do, and there's enough wind in the north sea to blow away concerns about running up the meter on dirty energy. So we started the session already on what I'd consider a bad day for importAnd then thanks to the sun shining we ended the session on exactly the same amount.Just a shame they don't consider export. We probably managed a full kWh during the hour.3.6 kW PV in the Midlands - 9x Sharp 400W black panels - 6x facing SE and 3x facing SW, Solaredge Optimisers and Inverter. 400W Derril Water (one day).
