Octopus Saving Session

millie said:I have had an email from Octopus stating I am one of a small handful of customers whose readings they could not retrieve for 23rd January so they have given me £1.74. According to them that is the average earnings. I can see the 30 minute readings on my account, so is it worth asking them to look again.

Many thanks for the above details.
I’ve had a look through my granular data and there is 20-30kW above base load I could theoretically shift. I’m a high electricity user and on an EV tariff for my car.
My tariff has an off-peak component and a peak one. The peak is more than 4 times the price of the off-peak period. If I were to suddenly shift most of my off-peak usage to a 12:30 to 15:30 (peak) time slot for 10 days, I would barely break even and it would be too stressful.
The off-peak starts at 23:30 which is when car charging, the dishwasher etc start. The rest of the peak period is taken up with base load and a small amount above for tv, hifi etc. There just is nothing left to shift as it has all gone already. I would only save 1.5 kW in the saving session if everything were off (not happening).
I would be very interested if other people on EV tariffs get payment from these sessions.0 -

It is quite likely that the current in day adjustment calculation will be amended following the end of this testing period.

Like all religions, the Faith of the Invisible Pink Unicorns is based upon both logic and faith. We have faith that they are pink; we logically know that they are invisible because we can't see them.0 -
