Afternoon all!
I'm back from my weekend away spending far too much on insects and arachnids, but a good weekend was had.
I met up with 2 of the 3 I'd arranged meet ups with, (the gent with the custom Alien enclosure wasn't able to make it, so that saved me £250 for the moment). Picked up a matured male for my girl, and decluttered 4 scorplings to a happy buyer.
Approximate spend of around £370 in just one small event hallbut I did win two charity raffle prizes (a jumping spider and a mug set with 3 baby tarantulas) and I was very lucky with a mystery box and got a £90 value tarantula for £45, it's currently only 1cm long, but at 5cms they sell for £300!
Got my first ant colony, and some leaf bugs amongst other things (I have uploaded a youtube vid of my haul if people are interested).
Got back Monday afternoon, unpacked & 'met' my friend online for her birthday. Tuesday I was straight back into work.
I had a dentist appointment yesterday evening, and another one today, I cannot wait to get these braces off. I feel we are very close to the end now.
BF still has the rest of this week off, so he was tasked with putting a wash on & cleaning the windowsill where he spilled something A WEEK AGO that still has not been cleaned, despite me pointing it out to him before I went away.

I hope you're having a lovely time with your DD Fayolle.Freezer stockcheck done. We have masses of things that have been in there a while so we're going to be working our way through those before I spend any more on new food. I'd like a bit of space in there to put food we do want to eat.Have mended my apron pocket which was coming adrift. I like this apron.Just about to chew on a frog that's been around for a few years. One tadpole at a time is the only way forward.Better is good enough.8

Thank you, HB, it’s been a chilled out day. I managed to adjust DD’s top with some nifty crocheting (instruction book next to me!) of buttonholes. We had brunch out, and she got a couple of cs finds. Not long back from the stables, which was not a pleasant drive in the dark and rain.
I’ve turned out a half decent focaccia which has been mostly demolished by DD and DH. I need to muster energy to cook some dinner. DH has lit the fire so I’m in no hurry to shift.
I have lurked around the decluttering thread for a couple of years, and am in awe of the declutterers. Mrs Salad_Dodger does an awesome job over there.
Flying? Not a lot since this morning, tbh. Oh, some of the washing actually dried so has made it to the airing cupboard. I need to sort out another load of washing for the morning.9 -
OH only just got back from work twenty minutes ago so a late tea (a very sloppy curry) here. Tells me as he came in that he's only had chance to eat one cereal bar all day - he's been at work since 7:30am! So I've given him a bit of a ticking off. He does this a lot and it really irritates me. "I didn't have time for lunch" - so we've wasted bread, sandwich meat, time making the sandwich etc. not to mention the health implications! Rant over XD
I'm pretty tired again this afternoon but have done the dishwasher and wiped down the kitchen surfaces after I cooked. Won't do much else tonight as I'll whizz around tomorrow when I have more time.£2023 in 2023 challenge - £17.79 January9 -
Evening all,
Pet chores done, mantises rehoused, everyone fed. Bf hung wet washing up and wiped the windowsill as ordered. He also cooked me tea which I appreciated, and took a trip out into the rain today to buy me some bread for my breakfast tomorrow (gave him an excuse to also buy a choc bar or two)

Not much flying here by me as I've been catching up with reports and doing assessments. Lots of emails to answer in the next few days, in fact quite a lot to do this week altogether....am awaiting to hear whether we will have 5 visitors for dinner on Saturday or just 3. Shopping list poised to add to when we know how many so I can decide menu.
Lovely private student assessment yesterday, just 16 and very shy at first but relaxed once she found I wasn't too much of an ogre. Really tired my brain out though, having to do lots of extra chat and explanation to ease her anxiety and answer her mum's questions. Equally lovely sports student at uni today.
Managed a gym swim yesterday morning and again on the way home this evening. As if the torrential rain isn't enough, there was a burst water main in Hertford which caused traffic mayhem.
Carried a large bag of confidential papers to shred or dispose of to uni, only to find they no longer have the big bin but just a small shredder....huh, it would have taken me forever so have brought them home again and will have a bonfire when the rains subside.

Evening all. Glad you've had a lovely day with your DD, Fayolle xxx
I seem to manage one productive day per week, and today was it. Also, not having DGD1+2 here this afternoon meant that I had extra time.
- The cane toad has been moved on by several steps and just needs a second application of glue in a few places, plus four small areas of stitching, which I will do early tomorrow morning.
- I stripped both beds and re-made mine, apart from the duvet cover and V-pillowcase, which K helped with. We re-made DH's bed together, then she hoovered all through (more thoroughly than I can do!) while I tidied, wiped and dusted.
- I did 4 loads of washing, hung one on the airer and the others outdoors. The bedding dried quite well in the 3-hour gap between heavy showers, and I got it all in before the rain started again. Stuck it all in the TD, but only for a short time.
- The WM started showing an error message so I turned it off, drained the water out and checked the pump filter (no problem).
- I had to move the TD to reach the WM plug, and discovered a plastic screw fitting which turned out to be an adjustable foot - but it's broken. The machine is still under guarantee and I'm pretty sure it must be the fault of the men who installed it, as I haven't moved it previously, so I shall ring the company tomorrow and ask for a replacement to be fitted.
- I took Rosie for a walk down the lane between the showers. She hurried home when the rain started.
- I've done HHI and hung everything on the airer to finish drying.
Tired now, so off to bed. Hope everyone has a peaceful night xx8 -

Morning all.
Raphael, I've watched your "Welcome to the Zoo Room" video first, and am almightily impressed with the speed of your decluttering and James's decorating! Can you work your magic on me please? - my list has been shrinking very slowly this week. Will save watching the show purchases until later.
Going out for coffee with my friend J this morning, but need to go shopping first. Rosie will need to have her walk between 1 and 2, when there is least chance of rain (but still 54%), and at about 3.00 we plan to go to a jigsaw festival at our local hospice, hoping to get some Christmas presents.
The last bit of glue is drying on the cane toad . Photo of the finished item later!
See you later - hope you all have a good day xx
