Morning all,
I did feel the need to check into the WAC, I obviously just can’t leave it alone.
First cuppa and a bowl of porridge now, watching the rain. A load is in the wm, but getting it dry is proving a challenge. I have an hour to do something useful before I have to leave to have my hair cut. The Something Useful might involve wielding a duster as it has got to the name writing stage.
DH is wfh this morning, and will go to the uni city to pick up DD later.
Round is ok. She is lurking, and decluttering like a demon. I miss her wit and wackiness on here though💕, much as it is the decluttering thread’s gain.
I’ll report back later. Have a good day all. I have left a pile of spoons by the door. With 3 days off work, I should be able to manage with just a couple for myself.9 -
Thanks Pigpen, she appears to be okay. It is laughable when the vets say don't let her jump, etc 😂 She clearly didn't get the memo and is as crazy as ever! She is currently staring wistfully out the window at the back garden. Soon kitty, soon! I have 2 two year olds today, so hopefully she will take herself upstairs to sleep 🤞
Grandbaby is still beautiful, thank you for asking. He is now 4 months, and thriving at nearly 17lbs 😊
I have had breakfast, cleaned up cat pee in the hall 🤬 and checked the bank account. I am going to finish my cuppa & then empty the DW so it can be restacked. The gruesome twosome will then be here, so we will go out to play this morning.
Have a good day everyone!9 -
Morning all. Was in the WAC for a while but snuggled down and grabbed another hour or so.
Jazee, I saw round yesterday on Mrs_Salad_Dodger's decluttering thread. She's on a roll!
Plans for this week may have changed, as DS1 has Covid and I definitely don't want it complicating my life atmWaiting for him to ring me...
Out for lunch today with a colleague from my teaching days, but first I am going to finish off the cane toad.
Didn't get to the post yesterday because I fell asleep after walking Rosie, so that needs to be done, as well as delivering a card to one of the Old Wives, the food shop and baking. Then it's the GBBO final tonight - a foregone conclusion, maybe?

Hi Jazee xx I'm here 👋. I've been concentrating on decluttering with @Mrs_Salad_Dodger and her gang, but I am reading the Flylady thread and cheering you on from lurkdom.
Oh Fayolle and iona beat me to it 👋 xx.
Lots of stuff is leaving the house. I think a realistic target is that it will all be done by this time next year. Yep. Seriously.
Minimum flying is being done at the moment but I'm hoping to learn the secret of flying and decluttering simultaneously 😊
I have been OK, but last week at work was relentlessly vile and I'm taking this week off as self cert to try to regain my equilibrium. Most annoying as I've been well for so long, but I guess even a willing donkey has to lie down eventually. 😒
Sending love to you all. ❤

All spoons appreciated. Went to bed at 9:30 last night.
I am hating my house right now. We (I say we, DD mainly) have trimmed the edges from the bedroom carpets and painted skirtings, sill and battens, so that when the new carpet goes down on Thursday the rooms will look ok. DD is an excellent painter, does the prep and clearing needed beforehand and has a steady hand. But in the meantime stuff is displaced and it’s a mess and I had chemo on Friday. So I’m feeling sorry for myself. And my head is pounding. DD has decided that my bedroom needs painting so that will happen when she’s finished her work placement.
Any room not having new carpet is being used to store stuff (except kitchen and bathroom). There’s no chance of flying. But I can get rid of some stuff. If I have the energy.
Hospital appointment later.PS I trained DD when she was small and made a big thing of teaching her how…and why…preparation prior to decorating is needed.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

Despite feeling a bit grim I have emptied the DW, put towels on to TD to get them out of the way, really, and sorted out the absolute tip that was the kitchen. Carpet trimmings have gone into the bin, along with other flingage. I have removed masking tape form the guest room/office, unwrapped the brushes from their cling flim and retrieved decorating box 2, which had some turps substitute in and put the brushes to soak. Washed up and dried and mostly put away too. And in my flurry I realised my headache has cleared.
Towels are now dry so I have another load in. I don't usually TD but needs must.
I have just dealt with a faulty Amaz0n purchase (I hope).

Thank you all for your kind words about my last post. I flip and flop between feeling good and feeling terrified - I will definitely speak to my midwife about it. I spoke to my OH about the worries that he'll switch off as a husband and he looked utterly perplexed (and a bit hurt, tbh) at the thought that he'd become some kind of slob just because we have a kid!
I'm off to pregnancy yoga tonight so hoping that'll relax me and help me connect with baby a bit too. OH was going to cook a curry for when I get home - it's a long session, 6pm to 7:30 and 20 minutes drive away - but I might try and tempt him with fish and chips that I can pick up on my way back instead... Won't get time for much flying tonight but I'm not planning to do anything tomorrow evening and I'm off Thursday again so I will catch up then!£2023 in 2023 challenge - £17.79 January8
