Except I would like to try and be uber-frugal and do £2000 this year:eek: - (everything except mortagage/council tax/life, contents & building insurance, boiler cover, factoring fees).
I think I can do it - I was born a frugal-baby!
Todays savings - went to ikea & had free hot chocolate, and 2 ice creams using vouchers. Replaced a broken blind - they refunded me for a larger size, so I accidentally made a profit of £5 :T:T:T also got some fairy lights and wrapping paper reduced to 20p
January aim = £ 166.67 p/m
spent = £110.04
YIPEEEEEEEEEEEE!
:hello: Welcome Jumble-Bee. You are amazing! Leaving the swedish store in-pocket! This is amazing! What an inspiration! You look set to more than outfrugal us all! I look forward to learning more from you :beer:Live on £4k a Year Challenge ~ #96 ~ £4000+CB ~ Spent:£702.53

Hello Everyone!
Happy to see new challengers and old - good luck to you all!
Kindly include me in the FCC Nyk. It's funny that like you, I have no scales, yet plenty of excess wobbly bits to vanquish! Perhaps we are twins after all! Figured I would not be able to join this challenge when first mentioned as I don't have any scales and didn't want to have to actually go and buy some, so well done Nyk for making the challenge more accessible - love the idea of the 'measure-in', although I am dreading it! A question: do we need to measure both limbs or just one of each?
Being the hopeless spendthrift that I once was, I was one of the mugs who actually bought one of those 'lateral thigh trimmers' that they used to advertise on the telly a couple of years ago! Cost a small fortune, but I did actually use it intermittently, but then spontaneously swapped it with my friend one day for something completely different! It's a huge metal contraption that you stand up in. You lift up a bar at the back and walk into it, lowering and locking the bar behind you. The bar has some padded foam around it - ? for leaning against maybe? You then step onto 2 pedal like footrests which lead up to handles which you move back and forth in a scissor-like action. Not sure what it's designed to tone, but it's great fun!
The children used to really enjoy playing on it before I accidentally turned it into a clothes horse/wardrobe combo, now unfortunately a permanent feature in my bedroom! Had the intention without the motivation, but not anymore thanks to you guys! The clothes (and hopefully some weight) are gonna come off! I also have a really ancient contraption (bought in a charity shop 10 years ago) made out of big springs and plastic. You put your feet into some stirrups and hold the handles whilst doing sit-ups. In the cupboard lurks another more modern wobblybits-buster aid - so sorry i don't know the names for any of these machines - you lay down on a faux leather pillow which is connected to a semi-circular metal frame. Hold onto the sides and use it to help you to sit up and down - tones up the stomach muscles i supposePlus I plan to walk a lot more.
Sorry everyone - I always manage to waffle on too much on here.
Spent a frugalyptic £1.88 yeterday in the co-op on milk (organic). Thought today would be a NSD as I went with two of my children to the schools' cross borough indoor athletics heats, which kept me out of trouble for most of the day, yet on checking my bank account 3 DD's went out: 2 gifts from e-bay £8.04 and £2.99 for p&p of a free usb memory stick - much needed replacement for dd1's broken one (earned by taking part in quizzes on OfferX) , so a total spend of £11.03
Sorry again for the lengthy post everyone. Wishing you all a good n frugal day, x x xLive on £4k a Year Challenge ~ #96 ~ £4000+CB ~ Spent:£702.53

Hi all.
Spent quite a bit since I last posted on Sunday. I've been on a course this week and was paid for my mileage so not too bad there. I refused to buy anything from the canteen and took my own! :T I did, however have two birthdays to pay for but I think that could have been more expensive than it was.....£19.96
Food came to.... £29.40
Car insurance.... £56.00
This weeks shopping bill has been really cut back on, so I'm pleased with that. I still need to concentrate on redusing my household bills, but I really don't know where to start, or if I can, as we live very cheaply as it is.
Any suggestions folks?
After I pay off my c/card, I want to reduce my loan which is costing me a staggering £380 plus a month!:eek:Living a frugal retirement without treading on the planet :T
