I finished emptying the larder unit and it is all bleached and sparkly.
Next job is getting the 2 small wlal cupbaords down.. pulling out the fridge and freezer and moving the larder unit along.. we will hopefully get it rebuilt today..
Hazel is in the way so we keep gently moving her.. I will get her heated bed vacuumed for her, It might help ease the pain a bit.
2x WM and DW both done.. we are drowning in laundry.
Front room whizzed through and finally met an online friend I have been chatting too since 1999!!!!!!!

Guests have left. Lovely (very lazy) weekend. Spare room restored to its former state of untidiness. Wm on with bedding. Need to clean the bathroom.
Allotment digging done, just enough to enable me to plant the garlic. It’s a beautiful day outside, especially as it started with fog.
Hugs to all x9 -
It's been a bit of a bust this week, not going to lie. I came down with a heavy cold Tuesday evening so took off Wednesday/Thursday/Friday off work - normally I'd probably have gone back Friday but as I can't take cold and flu tablets was still feeling a bit sorry for myself. Feeling better now but tidying has definitely taken a hit. I did the kitchen Friday evening as I had a cake in the oven (decided I needed one to cheer me up!) and then it looked like a bomb had hit it again this morning... I also half heartedly tidied my desk in the office Friday afternoon but again lots of work to be done in here. Trouble is I am a spreader and when I craft or draw I just fling stuff everywhere
OH has been a big help and has done the hoovering for me today, as well as two loads of washing and hanging some pictures. I've got the majority of the kitchen back to a cleanish state again and just need to do the countertops and unload/reload the dishwasher. Floor needs doing as well but might just sweep that today and give it a mop tomorrow. There's some bits hanging around the living room that really could do with being put in their rightful places and I really must think about the back bedroom - OH folded all my clothes the other day when he did his own and I've just left them there.
If I'm honest I'm starting to struggling with the mental aspect of pregnancy now. I walked a few miles yesterday and stood for our remembrance parade this morning and my back has been moaning about it all. All I hear about babies is how hard they are and how I'll never sleep again and how your relationship changes negatively. Very few nice stories about how kids are a pleasure to have. I'm only 22 weeks but it feels like I'm running out of time to enjoy myself and my OH before we have to change our lives completely.£2023 in 2023 challenge - £17.79 January9 -
KMN.. it's not easy growing people.. If your mental health is struggling do speak to someone, midwife, family member, friend. Make sure the low mood is not medical though, being drained or tired because you are anaemic or something can be easily remedied.. definitely mention it at your next appointment. If having babies and parenting was so evil and horrid people would not have a second.. or more!!You should not be standing more than 15-20 minutes as it lowers your blood pressure and can make you faint and nauseous so please be careful. As someone with small amount of pregnancy/babies/parenting experience
.. Don't listen to a word anyone says.. everyone wants to regale their horror stories but they exaggerate and make it sound so much worse than they experienced it.
Newborns are deathly boring. They don't DO anything.. enjoy this time.. snuggle them and heal your body.. it takes a while to get everything back on an even keel, hormones are wappy for a while.. so just sit.. and rest.. and heal..
Toddlers are amazing.. funny, full of character, learning everything.. they are just wonderful..
They have a year or 2 of whining when they first start school but then become little people you can chat too and reason with and just enjoy one anothers company.. some children are really hard work, some are an utter joy.. Some are both depending on the whether ... whether they want to, can be bothered, the wind is bowing the right way, saturn is correctly aligned with Mars or the colour of sound.
Some days you want to run away and hide, others you wish you had a cage to keep them in.. it is all ok and normal. Look after your mental and physical health and it is all easier to deal with... without you everything falls apart.. like putting on your own oxygen mask first.. you can't help others if you can't breathe!
OH doesn't do housework FOR YOU.. he just does it, the same as you do.. you're his partner not his mum and being partners means looking after one another, working together and sometimes one does more than the other and that's ok.
It is possible to enjoy yourself with children, they just tag along or you find a reliable sitter. It's a bit more prep but you can still do all the same things, holidays, spontaneous days out, nights out.. nothing really changes except you need an extra bunch of stuff. Having a child is not the end of your life, it is just part of another phase of life, the beginning of your new life. It is rewarding most of the time, but utterly soul destroying other times. Like everything in life it is what you make it.
Don't bother with a silly fancy 'baby bag' .. get a plain backpack and let OH carry it.. your body is recovering from growing a person, a whole person!!!!
When someone starts waffling on their horror stories just say ' I do not wish to hear your scaremongering/negativity/bad experiences. My experience will not be your experience and I don't want to hear negative tales right now. Thank you!' Those who respect you will shut up.
Kitche torn apart.. we may have bitten off way more than we can chew.. plumber number 6 not turned up.. I'm not even sure why but I am just going to youtube it.. find the bits and do it myself..

@pigpen thank you, honestly. I had a bit of a sniffle at that but you're quite right. I am very lucky in that my OH is quite happy to muck in and we share things pretty evenly where we can. I shall start using that line! I am admittedly not very good at admitting defeat - stubborn as an old goat, my Mum says - but really do need to start thinking about things a bit more sensibly.
Everything is pretty clean and tidy now after a joint effort of cleaning/tidying so I'm sitting down with a cuppa and going through my running clubs races for the weekend as I'm designated paper report writer for the week. They don't know I'm pregnant and haven't been running as I've not mentioned it but it's a nice way of keeping my hand in.
Sorry to hear about your absent plumbers!£2023 in 2023 challenge - £17.79 January9 -
KMN.. It is a perfect time learn to delegate and to supervise! My oldest daughter is expecting her 5th in April and is still going through all those same emotions. It is all very normal.
I have bought the part I need for the fridge supply so that is coming tomorrow. I have messaged a 7th plumber bout the leaky shower/bath/pipes.. and the new sink/tap will be dealt with when I have rebuilt the kitchen from the current utter state it is in. I also need new legs for the larder units.. the attached ones have cracked so I will measure them and buy some more. The food can stay in the wash basket until those are attached.
I have filled another binbag of ancient stuff from the cupboards and fridge. There was a packet of soup which expired in 2011!!! (I am a bit of a hoarder and am trying really hard not to be!)

Kissmenow I second everything Pigpen says, and she has a lot of experience as a Mum. It isnt all plain sailing, but it is so worth it. Your life does change, and nothing quite prepares you for that, but just take it as it comes. Dont ever listen to anyone else and do it your way - trust your instincts.
I am saying this as someone who has been a Mum for 24 years, and very proud of it too.8 -
Excellent advice from Piggers there.
My room has has skirting, sill, curtain batten and door frame in white silk instead of gloss. Carpet cut away from edges. DD has cut her carpet edges ready for painting tomorrow. I've also dealt with the mould in the corner of my room, whatever was causing it was cured when I had the soffits and fascias done. It's been scrubbed with bleach and wiped.
I have a stack of boxes in my lounge and various bedroom items. There isn't going to be much actual flying here until the caprets are in. Might manage some flingage though.
