BnM for storage boxes for OH's comics and Moomins shhhhtuff.....Bought a few stocking fillers and some decorating bits. I bought a new doormat too.. mine had plants growing on it.. and a dozen juicy worms under it.. waiting for the worms to move off and step to dry and I will bleach it and put the new mat down.
It will cost £50 to put vinyl flooring in the loo and the first part of the hallway so that is my next purchase..Sorted new freezer (buy now pay later so can wait until after Christmas and I then can pay it off in chunks to avoid interest charges).. so not I have to take down 2 tiny cupboards, move the larder unit 1.5m to the left.. fix it to the wall.. sort a plumber for the freezer pipes and clean half the kitchen.. the 2 tiny coboards are going back on the wall but in a different place.. not that the stuff in them is ever used.. ne has my best glasses I don't trust anyone with.. and the other had old (probably needs to go in the bin) medication I need to sort.
I will get grandpinks bedroom sorted this week and them beat the kitchen at the weekend with OH to do the big shifting.
Airers clearedrepair sorted for TDStuff from the line to come in and go on airers.. it is nice out today so it is actually drying.
DW to load.
I may grab food now.. I just sta down with breakfast yesterday and my 'pick up the children' alarm went off.. Lots more done, but not everything, but enough. Tuesday morning really is becoming my catch up on flying day. Also walked Poppet and got back just before torrential rain. Phew! Well that wasn't forecast.
Sitting with a cuppa now before DGD2 arrives.Spend less now, work less later.9 -
Top layer and stairs vacuumed, kitchen floor swept and washed, toaster given a bit of a drubbing, kettle wiped over, breakfast and lunch made and scoffed, altered the clocks on the oven and the microwave and am now putting my feet up before I vacuum the ground floor. The weather is spasmodically merde today but clear for the rest of the week so there will be laundry ready to hang out from tomorrow morning. This place is a midden. I don't think I ever did very much but not doing anything, apart from our bedroom and bathroom, for three months has resulted in a state that I can't live with, and I can live with a fair amount of 'clean dirt' as someone here once described it. I'm not having a pop at Belovéd, he's been amazing and has kickstarted the vacuum cleaner a few times, but he is a stranger to dusters and, like me normally, doesn't see cobwebs. I have had that duster on a stick thing out and about. Grim.I might add that he had to 'repair' the vacuum cleaner he likes using because he didn't realise that it could be clogged right the way through, and that he needed to wash filters and dehair the pick up brush.I have to add, the day I broke my ankle a neighbour very kindly carried me up the garden path and sat with me until Hugh got home because I was in shock. I sat somewhere I never normally sit and the festoons of cobwebs in a corner of the sitting room I don't normally look at were amazing. They've now gone.Better is good enough.9

Skids in late as usual.
Summary of Monday: had a pathetic night in WAC so what with that and a monsoon when I finally emerged, I didn't go for a run. However I did a load of WUDUPA as the DW had thrown a wobbly. Wiped surfaces and tidied.
Finished writing a report.
Went to a large town retail thingy with Mr N and looked at potential fitted wardrobes. Booked in for measurements next Monday, so we qualify for half price and VAT free apparently. So that is potential for decluttering and ultimately, assuming we get them fitted, easier flying. Sales lady most impressed when shown the photo of what we've had for the last 30 years; fitted shelving and rails made by Mr N but we never worked out how to do doors as it's an awkward shape - so it's either been open plan i.e. easy for lots of dust to get in, or occasionally we have curtains we pull across. Messy anyway. So I have just under a week to go through clothes and cull as many as possible so we can work out what sort of fittings we need. In addition to that, we've got a builder coming round later today to quote on moving 2 cupboard doors which lead to fairly large but not very accessible storage space by the dormer window.
So, to Tuesday. Started with a gym swim.
Checked yesterday's report and emailed it (keeping acknowledgement of receipt in case uni lose it).
Now I have just over an hour to start another report, prepare for the next 2 days' assessments and start clothes culling before the builder comes.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.10 -
Oh, and Fayolle, I would say you're welcome to Mr N and his flying skills......but I'd be lying!!
Builders seem to think moving the 2 cupboard doors is pretty straightforwards and they will get a quote to us tomorrow. If we say yes asap, they can fit it in this week before they start another bigger job elsewhere. Fingers crossed.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.10 -
Hi all
Two long days at the paid stuff - cycled in today. Bedding washed and over airer, hoovered through, kitchen tidied. Must remember to put the paper box out for collection in the morning.
Tired. Going to paint my nails and do some yoga while they dry, multitasking at its finest.10 -
I seem to have spent all day running a library, a canteen, a taxi and a dog-walking service:
- cooked a wok full of bolognese - yes, I know I was (con)fusing cultures
- sorted out 10 more books to declutter
- took DH to SW, waited for him while he weighed in, and brought him straight home again
- served lunch
- took Rosie for a short walk in lovely sunshine
- drove into the big city with DH
- delivered all 40 books to college [fer-ling!]
- took DH to his horse piddle appointment re his sleep apnoea. He needed a new mask - this one makes him look like an elephantThe sleep technician asked how often he changes the filters on his CPAP machine, but he's never ever done that! He didn't even know where the filter is. He's had that particular machine for at least 4 years, probably 5. The technician was appalled. I don't consider it part of my flylady duties [smug grin]
- made DH buy me a coffee
- drove home
- took Rosie for another walk, this time just as a downpour was starting
- cooked an early tea - no time for pasta, so we had noodles with some of the bolognese (so perhaps it *was* appropriate to cook it in the wok!) before DH got a lift from a friend to a meeting that I wasn't going to
- WU pans and started the very full DW (2 days' worth of dishes)
- caught up with emails, the thread, and FB, whilst every so often admiring my much less crowded bookshelves
Then my kids started sending WA messages. They had me in stitches. They are totally bonkers. Must be in the genes...
Now I'm going to indulge in watching Bake-Off. Early bedtime planned - I need to make an early start tomorrow and get on with the neglected sewing before taking DH to another horse piddle appointment.
ETA: Thanks for the reminder to put out the bins, YL

After spending an hour or so in the WAC, I eventually went back off to sleep and my alarm woke me at 8.15. I have to be ready for the gardener's arrival at 9.00. Best get moving!
Today's aspirations are almost the same as yesterday's... 'nuff said!7
