The egg yokey in the baby's bedroom (east facing box room, one wall is practically all window) told me it was 19.9c at 07:30 this morning. I think I need to start joining the lads out climbing on the M25!1

I finally had to give in to the moaning. I'm still not feeling it but apparently the house is "freezing". So Saturday I knocked the thermostat up to 18.5 and the boiler did engage during it's time slot, then the rads duly heated up. . . .for all of 15 minutes, ie. the house wasn't cold
. I also moved the hive controller up to the landing as downstairs is never cold these days when the log burner is on.
It came on for the first time in earnest this morning. The car was iced over so I can finally accept there's a chill in the air.0 -
It's "Ooh! Aah! Precious moments"* here, heating on a little.

The hallway storage heater went on a few days back, and the front room one went on yesterday for the first time this winter. (Input currently on medium, output completely off so maximising heat for later in the day.) room temperature in the front room yesterday was low 17°s and that is too chilly for our taste, plus the condensation on the windows told us it was time that the place started getting a bit more heating. Dehumidifier will start getting run every second or third night now in various parts of the flat too - and that in itself will help with temperatures. The problem with threads like this is that they inevitably become a virtual p***ing contest between certain posters who are determined to sneer at others, implying that they are in some way lacking for choosing to be warmer. (If your immediate reaction there is defensiveness wondering if I’m talking about you, perhaps ask yourself why you feel it’s so important to be “one up” over others in situations like this?) Ultimately we all have different requirements for a comfortable home temperature, maybe we’d do better focusing our efforts into actually helping those who genuinely can’t afford to heat their homes to be a comfortable temperature, rather than playing a slightly bizarre game of “who is the hardest top-trumps” with one another? It can be seen both from posts here and elsewhere on the forum that affordability is a very real problem this winter.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

I think I’ll have to check my insulation - heating has kicked on and off for a couple of weeks now with thermostat set at 16.5C
I don’t think internal temperature has been at the 19/20C people here are reporting for a month or so - and I’m in Yorkshire so not the arctic or anything.0 -
I was away all weekend and didn't get back until 9:30 on Sunday night. It was cold when I got home, but I just had a cup of tea and went to bed. When I got up this morning at 7:30, it was only 13 degrees :-( Heating got switched on (set to 17 degrees). Prior to this I've been using a wood fire in the evenings if it was chilly and an occasional hour of heating first thing in the morning when I have people staying over, but I've not had a temperature below 16 degrees this year until now. I'll probably light a fire mid-afternoon and switch the heating off again as I have admin work I can do in the room with the fireplace.0

Not had it on yet but looking at the predicted temps for the next couple of days (~6C daytime/2C overnight) I suspect it may be that time. If I can hang on through to the weekend we'll be back up to 10C+.0

My heating has been kicking in for about a week now but only for roughly 30 minutes in the morning and 30 minutes in the evening using around 10-12kWh a day.0
