There is no published end date, but someone was told in branch that it was 'just for November' or similar.

There is no end date to this offer at the moment but the T&c's state:

We can withdraw this offer at any time and should we choose to do so, we will update our website with the final switching date on which we will honour any payments.

First I saw of it was in a welcome letter, and even then it was rather hidden in the header like a reference.

I know DDs aren't necessary but can't see anything about monthly funding.

none for referral bonus but if you want everyday rewards (if you are applying this account) then there is £800 monthly funding required with few other requirements and you can get max £2.20 monthly reward from them

The only person I could refer has a smile acc (which is part of coop group)

smile account is not included, so yes you can refer him and then he can refer others
