Oh no, I can totally agree with your first "word"
Only think I can suggest is that it is stress because of the new arrangements, and they are trying to make that bit "theirs"
Could you let them out for a wee early like you are now, and when the carer(s) come, make sure they go out again so they can retrain themselves to go out and pee when something stressful happens?
I really feel for you, with all that is going on in your life right now it is the last thing you need

I would crate them when the carer comes, and possibly at other times too. My little dog never properly 'got' house training, and would wee on the kitchen floor at night - we used puppy pads overnight, but he is tiny, so it wasn't a huge deal). However, he jumped awkwardly one day and sadly sustained a serious back injury that needed major surgery. He needed to be crated while he recovered, to restrict his exercise and keep him safe. He didn't have much bladder control initially due to the spinal injury, so we had puppy pads in the crate. As he regained control, he stopped weeing on the puppy pads and would wait to be carried outside. His convalescence was quite a long one, but since that time in the crate (a couple of years now), he has never once urinated in the house. He has recovered well and isn't crated now at all, it was simply on the vet's instructions, and I had never considered it as a house training tool. I would if I ever got another dog though!

PS a crate can be a safe refuge for a dog, not a punishment, as it might look to you and I.

Oh I love a crate, they have one and never mess in it, but I can't leave them in the crate in the kitchen when the carers come due to some carers being afraid of dogs and I don't like the idea of leaving them in a crate all day any how. I think the problem is before when mum was home, she wouldn't always be awake to let them out so they did pee in the kitchen a lot so they have un house trained themselves.

Am going to bleach the floor in the conservatory somehow clean the base of the sofa............

For the sofa a mix of white vinegar and water should do it, between 20 and 25% vinegar to 75-80% water. I know you can do the percentages, but if people browsing read it they may get it wrong!

  • I am so miserable tonight. I started this diary with the hope of creating a better life for myself and things are just getting worse and worse.

I will try the vinegar thing.

Hugs and puppy cuddles from here Buffy, you are doing so well with such huge changes.
The Dr Beck cleaner stuff is really good and usually in supermarkets.
Do the dogs know really how to use the door?  I would expect mine to take a few days to figure out 'need to wee, must go through that weird swinging door, can wee, then can come back in again'.  Maybe try teaching them to come through the door when you take them for potty time?
Also maybe try puppy pads in the conservatory for a while so they at least use one spot?
And did you have any luck finding a walker?  I know it's another person in and out of the house, but having someone coming in halfway through the day and a walk might help them feel settled and would give them a definite pee break.
