Yes it is half term.
Can't say it feels like a holiday!
I am not cut out for caring in any way shape or form. Not at all. My best friend really summed it up today. And my "family" aren't a family.
I have decided to get a new car. I am sad to say good bye to my LOVELY CAR THAT I LOVE but it has to be done.
I am thoroughly miserable at the moment. Constantly having to think about carers, dinner, lunch, washing. I hate it.
I love Mum. But this is really hard.
Nevertheless she persisted.7 -
I’m not cut out for caring either, I really don’t enjoy any aspect of it. 10 years I’ve been doing it now 🙁
Hang on in there, take one day at a time. You do get used to the new normal but it doesn’t make it any easier.Sending hugs xxI get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)4 -

I just can't get anything done, Mum always needs something or we have a nice chat and then I am like crap I still have empty the dishwasher and move the washing round or let the dogs out. The poor dogs. All the comings and goings are stressing them out. We had the bloke doing the dog door, the plumber has been today, carers, district nurses. Everywhere needs hoovering, furniture needs moving but I have to wait till the carers have been or if the physio turns up. I started to sort my extensive house plant collection (I have a problem) three days ago! They are still on the kitchen floor! It is just so embarrassing.Sun_Addict said:I’m not cut out for caring either, I really don’t enjoy any aspect of it. 10 years I’ve been doing it now 🙁

And I know that they don't care and they have seen it all before but REALLY I don't want people in my home. Remembering to shut the door of my room is driving me nuts.
And SA, hats off to you really. 10 years. I know I couldn't.

Are the carers there long term or just until she’s more mobile?I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)3

In money news I moved the loan money and the savings money to pay for the car.
I am now facing this
1. Emergency fund - £400 (300 a month)
2. NSI - 250 (55 a month)
3. Secret account - 250 (0 a month)
4. Christmas account - 62 (31 a month)
5. Other saving account - 600 (high interest YB pay 300 a month)
6. House savings - 10700 (200 a month)
7. Debt - 3649
It is a real pain to have had to stop tutoring. Although I am saving a lot it isn't enough.
Still need to clear the debt first. And I am good position. Debt will be paid off, also any money I get from the car can go off the loan.
Its ok.
Nevertheless she persisted.4 -
I don’t like being a carer much either tbh. My son is 13 but still like caring for a 2 year old in regards to constant supervision, do all personal care etc. I thought at 40 I’d have 3 teenagers but it’s not like I pictured at all x4
