Today I'm grateful for finding bargains in both sainz and liddle while dc was at youth group, for a good day at work, for almonds, for managing to miss most of the rain when I had to be outside, for a job I can apply for at a place I'd like to work.

Big frog swallowed today. A small pension I’ve been trying to transfer from a previous employer scheme to my current one finally looks like it is being processed. I first applied in April 2020
Thank you! Reminded me I need to do this.Well I am back from my weekend away at the Invert show. The guy selling the custom enclosure didn't make it, so it saved me £250.
£370 spend however!
I did win 2 raffle prizes (1. a jumping spider and 2. a mug & 3 baby tarantulas) I also lucked in with a mystery box. You don't know what you're buying, but its always worth more that the cost of the box. They give you little hints like 'halloween special £30' (could be a pumpkin patch or a skeleton leg) or 'beginners £20'. I gambled on a £45 'Rare' box, and ended up with a £90 tarantula. Very happy.
Also got a few pets I've never kept before, leaf insects and ants. All in all a good weekend.N NO GUILT. NO 'shoulds', 'oughts' or 'have to's. I enjoyed my weekend away, one last expensive 'hurrah' before I knuckle down and focus on the mortgage overpayments.

Y YOUR HEALTH is important. I had a dentist appointment today, and another tomorrow. We're getting close to the end of my treatment and my braces will hopefully come off in a month or two. I need to get back into the gym and on my run plan.
E EVALUATE any home made presents. It was my friends birthday yesterday, she loved her apple plushy!
M MAKE A LIST Check it twice. My list has been stacking up while I've been away, time to knuckle down.

Oh my word thats an interesting collection of pets @x_raphael_xx! I want to like them, I really do, but I did just massively shudder looking at those photos! Glad you had a lovely weekend collecting them though! Whatever brings you joy is so important!
I've realised I've been so focused on the debt repayment, I've not been making enough room for joy in my life. That needs fixing! I just need to find some inexpensive ways to have fun!
Updates for yesterday/today;
- YWA complete
- cuddles with pooch
- AFD no 7 yesterday
- No chocolate yesterday and tons more protein than normal definitely made a difference
- £200 switch offer paid into bank account this morning - just about to sweep straight over to the cc.
Have a lovely day all x

@thriftylass I like the sound of a 30 day house cleaning challenge… going to look up and get to it!Worked in the office yesterday and quite enjoyed the company. But here’s the sad story of my losing my NSD… I took the roasted pepper soup out of the freezer in the morning … the soup went into the microwave at the office at lunchtime and then I got a whiff… the smell of chorizo filled my nostrils… I’d taken the wrong soup! I can’t stand chorizo. I had to buy lunch… it cost me £3! I didn’t even enjoy it. I lost my NSD ☹️ The end.Grateful for company at work, for getting lots done, and for seeing some colleagues for the first time in ages.Have a good day turtles. x

@x_raphael_xx , that is a good haul. Can't say they're pretty pictures, sorry, lol, but as as hazeldreams said, it makes you happy and that's important. We recently went to Berlin Zoo and they have a massive insect and spider section, very fascinating to see them up close actually.
Anyway, fabulous morning. I just like mornings better when DH is away as I can do as I please without worrying about waking him (kids sleep through anything) as our bedroom is above the kitchen and British houses are so thin-walled. Got my journaling done, the dishes, my today's to do list, was able to air the bedroom and make our bed. Need to find a way to make it work again when he's here it's so good for me and I used to do it before.
Will need to walk the kids to school today and will take my bike rather than the bus. I have to stay late in work today for a meeting but I have taken plenty of food and will gym later in the day too. Also have my 3rd (of 4) teaching course today, it's just crazy how different teaching is today (and how different the students and their attitudes/expectations are). But I thought I can't change the students, I need to learn how the new world works and adapt, hence the course (I don't teach as such but occasionally do outreach in high schools and have summer/honours students in the lab).

Hi all...
I'm just dropping in mid-month to say a big hello and cheerlead you on!!! Apologies for vanishing - COVID, flu, work stress... but I have swam back up to the surface and will swim along with the bale - apparently that's the collective noun for a group of turtles!!! I'm off for a week so I am going to go through all my food cupboards/freezer and make what I can and spend as little as I can... why not do the same!!! I will rejoin you all in December. Keep up the great work... Abundant x⭐ DEBT FREE : 18/02/2025 ⭐
