Anyway, I transferred the items on the list to my diary and added some that are specific to our house. That way it should be sparkling by ChristmasNST 🐢 & MF before 40 🤸8 -
Sorry been awol, life is busy at the minute. Managing to keep my sense of humour... just...!
Grateful for extra snuggles with ds, he has been extra loving this week and a superstar with letting me get all the boring bits done. Grateful for runs that are going well and for almond croissants.
Taking a night off tonight from anything too taxing on the brain and going to run through outgrown clothes to give to the charity shop while watching escape room on n€tflix. Watched the good nurse the other night and they also had the documentary about the "good' nurse the film was based on and the lengths she had to go to for the conviction of Charles Cullen both really interesting and worth a watch if you like anything like that.2024 decluttering Campaign

Sorry for no post this morning - I was up and downstairs early to get ready for Mr Builder and although I took the laptop down with me, I never managed to open it. Busy day, helping Mr Builder (moving soil, stones and weeds whilst he used the sledgehammer to knock down part of the cobble wall and the old bolted down post shoe - new gate is wider than the old one and new posts are 4 x 4 not 3 x 3). Power tools were involved and I sat down to watch and chat a safe distance away. Mrs Builder isn't ill, she's doing an office job and they want her to go full time (think she must have taken it on when Mr Builder was recuperating from operations last year).
I've tackled most of the washing up backlog. The sink, draining board and washing up bowl were scrubbed first and clean things from the DW were returned to their homes. We've had several deliveries (not all mine), DS3 was very co-operative and helpful and many bags of rubbish and recycling have gone out or are nearly ready. Mr Builder went home just before 3 pm (he will return in the morning with the new gate and Mrs Builder's son to help carry and install it) and I was quite tired by then so came upstairs and have had a little sleep. I'm still sub-par so have been having little rest breaks between pottering and making sure to eat and drink often.
Hello abundant, so glad to see you.
Grateful for getting work done (my super shopping list continues to grow, the latest addition is a cover to go over the drain - oh the glamour), simple but tasty food and DS3 being co-operative. I explained the traffic lights food labelling system to him and handed over the card I keep in my purse so he's been checking many of the things he's eaten over the past few days. Going to turn off the laptop again now and read until I fall asleep again.13 -
grandmanerd - so good that your gate is finally being sorted!Wotcha abundant! And Dfw38!ThriftyT - how's the new sewing machine going? For years/decades I used my hand-powered Singer and the switch to an electric one was rather scary...Today I am grateful for my counsellor, for playing card games with dc and dh, for bumping into an old friend in a most unexpected place, for being able to stay dry and warm, for dc perking up as the day went on.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!14

Crazy busy day today, felt like my feet didn't touch the floor! Woke up at 5.15 for no reason and couldn't sleep. Had to get up at 6 anyway so wasn't the end of the world. Managed a workout and I did bring my coffee with me on my commute rather than sitting and having it on the sofa today.
Had a manic day at the full-time job, lots of meetings, rushing to and from different buildings but it was definitely productive. Worked at part-time job for a couple of hours as well after work so haven't been home long. This also meant I had to buy dinner on the go. Just got a meal deal so kept costs down relatively speaking.
Nothing done at home today but hopefully catch up with a few bits tomorrow.11 -
2nd trip to the dentist today, which cost me £2.40 in parking. As the appointment was about 45 minutes, bf understandably didn't want to drive me in and sit in the car park waiting.Needed some pet food, and I wanted a cheap clear phone case. I like taking videos of my pets & have a youtube channel, the chameleon hates me getting close with the phone. It's red so not sure if its sending out threat signals. I'm planning on gluing some fake leaves to the back, to disguise it. We shall see how that works, worth a try for £2.99.
Also ordered an xmas jumper for jumper day. Its got a tarantula on it wearing a santa hatTackled a few items on my to-do list: rang mum, rang my old pt (to see if he's still doing boxing sessions), rehoused the mantises, fed the snake, axolotl, frogs and ants.- I am grateful to bf for cooking my tea
- I am grateful my new spray bottle arrived (for the pet enclosures)
- I am grateful for the rain (I love it)

Evening turtles, nothing much to report today. We do have a lovely new bedroom carpet though!
Nothing spent today so that’s NSD 7/15.
Need bank account to catch up and update a few pending transactions so I can check it’s all still on track.
Meeting a friend at the weekend with her birthday & Christmas gifts. All sorted just need a gift bag tomorrow. I’m going to bargains for the home for some bits and pieces so should get one there for not to much £££.
Healthy food and no alcohol. Getting a tad tired of hm soup maybe make one next week and think of something else.
Haven’t left the house today so that’s keeping me safe from the cold & the dark.
In my head I feel I still have a lot to do for Christmas but glancing through lists it’s not as much left as I thought.
Downloaded a sample to my kindle, not sure if I’ll buy the book.
Grateful for: finally getting new bedroom carpet, sleeping in the bedroom tonight as a friend took ds to footy so I could help DH put the bed back together and move the mattress back up the stairs, a day that for once went to plan.

Hello @apple_muncher 👋 🤣.
Off to bed soon, up at 5 for another run. Feeling the benefit of all the time put in but am not looking forward to another run in the rain. My friend said the rain is going to be so much tomorrow it will be biblical... think I should have spent my evening building an ark 🚣♀️

Was up at 5.30 yesterday to take DH to the airport. Picked mum up on the way home, so she could come here for the day. Didn't do exercises, but not beating myself up about it. Sorted her pension claim for when she retired in Feb, then she made banana bread, using up bruised bananas, I made 2 mushroom quiches - 1 to eat, 1 to freeze. Roasted the last of the homegrown tomatoes to go with the salad & made jam tarts with the leftover pastry. DH got home on the afternoon flight, so collected him & dropped mum home. Had washed up after dinner, so left the evening dishes. Managed to stay awake for a bath, in bed by 9pm, totally shattered! NSD#6
Exercises done today. Took DH for his blood test at the hospital, only to be told they didn't need to see him today. Nipped in l1dl, managed to get the catfood that our fussy puss will ear. Took cardboard to the dump. Walked with DH to post some letters, then spent 4.5hrs sewing.
@apple_muncher I did have a little play with my new machine on Monday, this one is big bells & whistles! Don't even need to attach the foot pedal 🤯 has a digital screen & can do embroidery & trillions of stitches! Was going to do a plain running stitch on the blanket I'm currently making from outgrown baby clothes for a customer, but the thread kept snapping. Used my old machine today, but will need to teach myself how to embroider letters tomorrow, ready for putting the name on it, then it'll be all finished 😃
Sorted DS1's insurance out & emailed a friend I'd been intending to for the past 2 months.
Grateful for DS thanking me for looking after him (doesn't need my help now, except to carry buckets of coal in, so heading back to work next week), getting a lot of the blanket done, a nice walk, fun with mum yesterday, tasty home baked treats 😋Use it up, wear it out
Make do or do without!
If you see someone without a smile, give them one of yours 😃
