Today I am grateful that extra sleep helped dc get through the day, for a friend dropping round a gf/df fruit crumble, for DH producing a pot of cream that he'd hidden in the fridge, for getting my application sent in, for old Magnum episodes, for a thoughtful email from one of dc's teachers.

I could certainly do with a horizontal life pause today!
woke up at 5, that's the earliest so far this week and I've no idea why! Hope it doesn't get any earlier... lay in bed for ages, read a bit on my phone, finally fell asleep again after 6.30 but my alarm went off at 7 so I was up and out of bed. Lay on the sofa with a coffee for a bit. Didn't feel like working out so I went for a walk instead, it had stopped raining which was nice although I don't mind a walk in the rain.
Checked through my finances, am about £40 down on where I should be at this point in the month but not too bad. Paid £10 extra off my new TV purchase and donated £10 to charity.
Worked from home until after lunch, managed to get some hoovering and washing done, also cooked some lunches for next week for me and OH and froze them so we're all sorted on that front.
Went into work for two meetings that were both cancelled short notice so that was a waste of time. Wish people would plan better. Had an appointment with the NHS physio for my back, she's given me some advice and exercises. Reckons my issues are muscular not joint related, which would be preferable! I've been told everything under the sun over the last few years and am still not convinced what it is so hopefully she's right.

Had some Am@zon vouchers and spent them on budget fridge and freezer thermometers (to check their temp is set only as low as necessary to safe energy) as well as an outdoor one. Also bought some cheap Bluetooth earphones for the gym. Had to report the seller though. Loads of reviews sounded over the top good. It was the first time I received one of those £50 Am@zon voucher incentives to leave a 5 star review. When I looked more closely through the reviews it was clearly a scam and against the rules which I suspected. Not that I care much about Am@zon but I care about misleading customers. When I also contacted Am@zon the said they pass it on but seem to care more about that the product actually worked ok. I guess if they would block all seller that do this they would loose quite a few.
On a side note, will get free lunch tomorrow during a meeting, yay.DEBT 02/25: total £6100 Debt free date 12/259 -
NSD 8 today.Wfh with the majority of it taken up by the second day of an online conference. Some of it useful and interesting. At the break, I hung up and put away washing, and did a 5 minutes Mr Wicks workout to waken me up for the second-half of the conference.OH is out this evening with a friend so I invited Mum for dinner. I’m now watching catch up - the ML Show - and will be heading to bed after it finishes.Grateful today for learning new things, for Mum enjoying her dinner, and for a warm, safe home.NST 🐢 & MF before 40 🤸9

and mullets. Fashion does funny things. I know fashion usually goes in 20 year cycles (like we wore 70s flares in the 90) but that return of not the most flattering 40 year old styles is strange. Maybe there isn't enough distinctive stuff from the naughties to rehash? At least for once we 40 year olds look cooler than the 20sth. Better stop, could discuss/analyse this forever. My FIL is the last generation of always shirt and proper trousers, my parents looked cool in the 60 and 70 but don't know how to dress now, lol, I dressed the same for 30 years (low cut boot cut jeans, doc m@rtens and black Tee.) Wonder when there will be sth new as so far we've been reliving the 60-90s. Sorry, just intrigued...

Listened to the local radio station need & weather in bed, then an interview with one of the organisers of the Christmas Tractor Run. Missed it last year, but from the photos it looked great! Over 200 tractors festooned in Christmas lights, driving around the town, they raised lots for charity too. Going to go this year.
Exercises done. Read my book whilst eating breakfast, then got out my new sewing machine to teach myself how to embroider on it. Upper thread kept snapping, so hand stitched the name on the blanket I've made, going to drop it off tomorrow. Had hung the washing out all morning, but got it in at lunchtime when it started raining. DH had been for a walk in the morning, but received a txt as soon as he walked through the door to say his prescription was ready for collection. I wrapped up & walked in the rain to fetch it. Only 0.6 miles off my 500 mile target for this year now. Washed the dishes twice, did the ironing & sorted finances. Phoned my headteacher to say I'll be back at work on Monday, she sounded delighted!! Will be nice to see everyone again & fun in the lead up to Christmas 😃 Had a go at curling my hair with straighteners, after watching a video on yootoob. Think I'll need practice before our staff do (which is on my birthday).
Grateful for the head teacher being pleased to have me back, a walk in the rain (was offered a lift some if the way home, but I refused. Was nearly there anyway), a warm fire to come home to, watching TV with DS1Use it up, wear it out

That looks amazing @Thrifty_Taylor. I love patchwork quilts. On my list of things to learn. Got a lovely one years ago when DD was in hospital, ladies from a local sewing club made and donated them to children's wards as comforters.DEBT 02/25: total £6100 Debt free date 12/259

NSD8 (I think) in the bag. I did not leave the house on my day off, did loads of annoying life-admin froglets, baked a savoury pie for supper, made £4 on p/a,I have a £5 note for bus fare in my purse allocated for tomorrow. If my work expenses get paid on Tuesday I am fine, otherwise I am going to be trying to see how far £86 is going to get me, and £40 of that is for kid bus fares. It is not right that people don't get reimbursed on time. Grrrr! I have the money to draw down from savings, but it really annoys me they are s0dding up my carefully planned budgetLovely blanket @Thrifty_Taylor4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!
