Ha ha, no indeed.  And the good thing about those debts, is because we were originally on a DMP, they are all interest free.  Just got to sit down and work it all out in the new year. I am going to try and set a proper realistic target date to get debt free.

Yes, that is the plan. We have already cleared a couple over the past few years, from F&F offers that they made to us.  I don't need a list, I have a spread sheet and can tell you exactly what we have left on each one...lol.  We have been paying the absolute minimum for the last 3 or 4 years since we went onto a self managed DMP after being with SC for a while.  When I got made redundant the 2nd time, we decided it was the easiest thing to do . And then once I started my pension, we concentrated on the mortgage as that obviously had interest on it and the debts didn't. We've had a fw decent F&F offers this last year, but ignored them as wanted to get the mortgage done first.

    Fantastic news 🥳

  • Thanks for all your nice comments. It all seems a bit underwhelming TBH now the deed is done.  DH just said....."very good" and that was it!  He hasn't been the one trying to work it all out every month, he just got told every time I paid some off, he really has no interest in the "how and when".....lol,  although it was his pension cash out that helped in the end.

Well the rest of the day has been a big quiet really. No particular MSE things to report.  I just managed to nab a study on P/fc but have reported it, after completing it, as it was far longer than the 3mins stated and worth a lot more than £1.50 IMHO. Got about £11 off  to cash out in a bit, and still waiting on quite a bit more to approve.
Today was pension day and the start of the new 4 week period, so let's hope this turns out to be a good one with some money left over at end of it. Meat is ordered from butcher for Christmas and I know I have to put money by for that.

I turned the heating down to try and save a bit of money, as we seem to have had it on a lot over the weekend.  DH's cough taking ages to go and I didn't want him to get worse by being cold.  Now I wish I hadn't turned it down as I have just had a shower and sat here with a wet head and feel quite cold.  Mind you I had a bad night last night, so maybe that is another reason I am cold, just because I am tired. I'd banished DH to the spare room with his cough, but could hear him across the landing nearly all night. Men just don't think about getting a warm drink, or a dose of honey, or even propping more pillows up so they don't cough so much.  He says he can't sleep propped up.....well he can't sleep laying down either as it makes him cough so much!!

Dinner tonight is yesterdays leftovers.  Had a lot of chicken left over and some roasties and veg. So will do something with that.  I just feel like an easy dinner today.

Well, need to get on now as I'm feeling cold sat here. Have a good evening everyone

Congratulationds on your lack of mortgage. Wait until you hear from the land registry or your final statement. Ten it feels real and you can sit and gloat over them at least thats what I did.

Yes, I think I need to see it in black & white to believe it.
