Fantastic news!  I smiled when I read that on the day you cleared your mortgage you also wrote "rest of the day was a bit quiet really.  No particular MSE things to report" 😀🥳

Just a quick post as just had to share the good news.....The deed is done!   Just been on the live messaging and got a final figure and sent the last £701.15!!!!!    Can't believe it, we are mortgage free, 18 months ahead of schedule.   In the new year I will be making a plan to get the other debts paid of ASAP, whilst still trying to save and live a good life.  Need a rest now. Will pop back later for a daily post.
Oh, @Makingabobor2 I have just seen this. Congratulations 🎊🎉🥳
How absolutely wonderful - I'm so happy for you 😁
Live the good life where you have been planted.

  • Sounds like you have a good plan in place for your debts, and you can always reach out to companies yourself with a low offer and negotiate. But maybe a task for in the new year. For now enjoy mortgage freedom

Yes, I'm not doing anything until after Christmas. We are having a week away by ourselves in the country over Christmas and then come back ready to start again. DH is still coughing loads after his lurgy, and we've had a few family issues going on as well...his side I hasten to add....lol, so we are looking forward to a rest and being by ourselves.  But I will be making some good F&F offers to them all in the new year.

  • Afternoon Saturday readers.  Just thought I'd catch up as I have a spare half hour.  Just seem to be always busy lately and trying to get things organised.  DH is a lot better now but still coughing a bit.  I have had a bit of a "feel yuk, but can't put mu finger in it" sort of few days. Hopefully ok now though, think it was a combination of a sinus infection, feeling run down with the winter weather, bit of family issues from DH's side and also being 4 years today since my mum passed. Always makes me feel sad, even though I know she is now at home in spirit and in a much better place. And my little robin came into the garden today, so I know she has paid me a visit.

Anyway, what has been happening.?  Well at the moment the washing is blowing in the breeze, and there was sunshine earlier, but looks a bit cloudy now, so might need to run out and get it in.  All done on a 30c wash.
Think there is enough in freezer to not have to go shopping before we go away next Saturday, so just writing my lists of what I need to take.
All presents are wrapped, using recycled paper or bags and gift tags made from last years cards and just need to drop stuff off at DD's house for the GKs in the week, before we go next weekend.

Still waiting to get the letter confirming that our mortgage is now paid off, but they have closed down our account on the app, so that's a start.  Had to laugh today, got a letter from them saying our bank had told them we had cancelled our DD, and we wouldn't be able to send them any more money without it!   Ha Ha....that is the general idea.

Need to just vac upstairs in a bit and then do an online exercise session.

Think I need to go and get that washing in, really looks like it might rain.....Then we might open some chocolates we have been sent for Christmas, while we watch Strictly tonight.  Then maybe some Christmas films tomorrow.

Hope you are all having a good day.
