Our local one isn't too bad but the very large one a few miles further away, well parts of it stink. I'm never sure if it is off fish or unwashed bodies or a mix. Certainly the half of it away from the doors are to be avoided.

Hello everybody. We got back from our break away on Saturday afternoon, so have spent the last 48 hours,, unpacking, washing, visiting in-laws and a bit of food shopping. Hoping you all had an amazing time, we certainly did. It was so nice and peaceful, and to be able to do whatever we wanted. I am slowly getting round to catching up on diaries now.
Hope you all had nice gifts that you really wanted. I certainly did. DH had already got me a new Samsung step tracker watch, so wasn't expecting anything else, but he surprised me with a new hat, the new Nancy B book and some chocolate. So that was very acceptable. DD got me a jigsaw puzzle, some beer for DH and a box of shortbread from the GKs. She has also adopted a tree for us in a wood towards the north of the county, so we can explore new places on our walks, and she has done well to donate to help the Woodland Trust. Think that's a lovely idea. My dad sent us £20.....'cause we'll get the rest when he goes apparently!...lol. He then complained because I got him 2 books and he had already read one of them! The In-laws sent us a very large sum of money again, which was very acceptable and for which we are very grateful. They are strange, negative, moaning people, with no interest in the rest of the family, or in doing anything else, but then they just throw money at us for birthdays and Christmas. So that has been allocated to a savings pot already.
We ate too much, and I am now making a big effort to cut right down on chocolate and cakes again. but we did go out for some good walks so hopefully the food hasn't done too much damage...although I do feel podgy.
So what MSE things have happened? Well we only spent £12 the whole time we were away, apart from an extra £30 of petrol to get us home....all budgeted for. So my NSDs for the month are looking very good with 16 out of my targeted 15 so far, and looks like tomorrow may be one as well.
Washing has been done on 30c and pegged out to dry, although I did have to finish some off in the TD yesterday as it wasn't as sunny as I was expecting. Wish I'd saved it all for today as its sunny and windy here.
Went food shopping first thing, just needed some fruit, veg, bread, salmon and mince, to tide us over till next week when the new budget period starts. Will sort out the meal plan in a bit. I managed to get some orange stickered minced turkey in L!d! and some yellow stickered bread in Mr M. Its easy to do those 2 together as can drive past Mr M on way home from L!D!. Took the plastic recycling to drop off at Mr M as well. They seem to have done away with the large cage they used to use for it, and people are just dumping it all on the floor near the loos! As is usual for this time of year, there were a lot of gaps on the shelves, and in the freezers and it was so nice and quiet.
Tonight's dinner is using up some left overs from the freezer. I am so looking forward to having salmon and rice later in the week. I am just so sick of turkey and gammon now!
So now onward and upward towards towards 2025. Looking forward to getting my budget book out and new diary and calendar, and getting everything written up with new plans to get rid of the debt and increase the savings, as well as plans for becoming even more fitter and healthier. Also more plans to declutter a bit more and get some big cleaning/DIY jobs done and also plans for the garden. Think I might do that on NYD, as the weather forecast doesn't look too good for going out.
Off to do an online exercise class now and then retrieve the washing and sit down with a cuppa and catch up on diaries.
Enjoy the rest of your day.Making the debt go down and savings go up

Oh dear I purposely buy cob nuts to put out for our very persistent squirrels at this time of year. I usually get them from Mr T’s but it’s out of way so picked them up using vouchers at another shop. I keep telling them “these are not just any nuts they’re X nuts”Tilly Tidying andPADing in 2024 £250.62

Just wanted to say a quick Happy New Year to you all. Hope you have a good evening & a prosperous & healthy 2025. We're off to bed now, reading. Will probably be asleep by 12, although its so windy out there.
I finished the year in good MSE form today....
Wore my thermal top so I could keep the heating off & save money, till DH came home from work just after 4pm. Did lots of housework to keep warm
Took down the Christmas cards & cut gift tags from them for next year.
Had another NSD
Sorted out some more stuff for CS. Did walk down there, but they were closed! Then I read on local FB page that they are not taking donations at the moment, again. So will have to drop them at one of the CSs in next town. Still got more to sort anyway, so can take it all together next time I go.
Will update tomorrow with all my new plans & challenges. Really looking forward to 2025.
See you all next year!Making the debt go down and savings go up
