If you posted a message that outlined your position I'm sure you would be inundated with items to sell.

I would gladly give to someone who was trying to raise funds for their daughter's operation.

But you didn't and it wasn't pleasant for the giver of the item to see it on ebay. Imagine how you would feel if it was the other way round?


Perhaps in the future you'll just state the facts, that way it wouldn't have to come to this.

Thanks for your comments Triker - i have certainly learnt my lesson and i am truly sorry to JUJU and i will not do this again but it was just embarrassing being in this situation and having to beg for people's help and it makes me feel like a bad mummy i cant do this for my little girl wothout being able to pay for treatment myself

Look the way I see it is that maybe there's a win win situation here for you, if you just be factual regarding your circumstances than I'll bet you'll end up with tons of things to help raise funds.

Don't be daft about thinking your a bad mother, you're not, just gone off on the wrong track but heading back to the right one.

I apologise too if I hurt your feelings but I do feel very strongly about people abusing the freecycle system and not being upfront about their intentions. It just makes people think that they've been made a fool of and therefore probably won't freecycle stuff again.

Good luck with your daughter's fundraising and stick around MSE there are tons of good ideas we can share with you to raise cash and save money.xx

Before you want to condem me of all these evil things i just want to let you know WHY i am selling this table. I am disabled and my husband is my full time carer, i have 2 little ones, my daughter is 3 and is also disabled and her bowel does not work without treatment. They have wanted to give her a colostomy since birth and we are waiting for her to have a biopsy done at Oxford to see how much of her bowel has no muscles and would require removing. She is in constant pain and has been since she was born and we have been taking her to a private chiropractor as the hospital just give her medicine that doesnt help the pain and we have looked for anything that will help. The treatment costs us loads and we live on my disability and so sell stuff to try to help pay for it. So i am not some big fraudster and neither is my little girl i am just a mum who is trying to do anything possible to help my little girl. I know you probably will choose not to beleive me and that is your perogative but this is the truth and i am sorry this has upset you so much and i appologise for this and hope you will find it in you heart to forgive me.

The fact is that I no longer needed the table and chairs, and you collected it from my house, thus doing me a favour.

I just would have preferred to know that you were going to sell it on.
It did upset me.

I am really really sorry i upset you Julie and it certainly wasn't my intention, i am sat here crying as i certainly didnt want this to happen and i am very greatful for you for giving me the table. If you would like some of the money i would be greatful if we could have some to pay towards Liberty's treatment but i will give some to you if you would like. Sorry again and please don't feel i am a bad person because i am not :-) and please don't stop freecycling - the world need's all of us to help (i do give lots of things away too!! and recycle everythingpossible)

Don't be getting yourself all upset, hey look what's happened you've landed yourself into the greatest website in the world.

We're here to help, support and guide each other through all our trials and tribulations and believe there's loads.

In regard to your comment Cardew - i will not change my ebay or freecycle name as i would rather tell anyone who wants to know why i have done this and that its for my precious little girl and hope people understand as Julie now has and i will appologise to anyone on freecycle who feels i have not told them the truth and in future i will say why i want the item offered. i am an honest person and i will stand up and take whatever i am given like i have on here and i will tell the truth so hopefully people will understand and forgive me

Juju, just a thought but perhaps you could edit the earlier post to say the matter is cleared up in case some people get to this in the morning and don't get to this point, if you get my meaning.
