Anyone else who is an existing active customer still waiting to hear from Santander after applying more than 48 hours ago?

Hi, regarding the application process at what stage do we think the application is complete and Santander aren't going to come back asking for more details or passports etc etc?
We've both opened accounts.  I've received four emails, the initial application, the email with sort code and account number, one with online ID and one with "Important information about your ESAVER".
The missus has received only the first two, the initial application and the sort code/account number. She's not received the email with login ID.
According to the emails both accounts are ready to receive money, but I don't want to do that until I'm sure we won't be held up with these additional process.  In particular my missus who has a lot less patience with these matters always seems to strike unlucky and hits issues where my identical application did not.
    Thanks,

I am struggling to see an argument (apart from a few minutes of effort) not to apply for this.
If it is no longer competitive in the near future, move to the next one.

Unless you like to take the risk it may not be available when you get around to applying 😉.
Or are altruist, and are letting others have the benefit 😀

Obviously after reading the T&C for yourself, to establish it is indeed easy access, with no restrictive requirements:

Just opened one up, took seconds as I am already a customer, haven't read the detail just yet.

Are there any caveats to getting the 2.75%, do you have to add in a certain amount every month, or setup direct debits etc? Or can you just add money as you want?
@dannycarey direct debit requirement would be very unusual on a savings account, especially an easy access account (in contrast, current accounts do often have the type of requirements you suggest)
  • Is anyone else uneasy that Santander put your personal customer ID number in an email to you when opening this account?  I know there's still a password which remains secret, but, even so, isn't emailing the ID lessening the security on your account?  Just to be on the safe side, I changed my ID and password after receiving the opening email.  I have often been told that emails should be treated as being open to be read by anyone.

I have had a Santander current account for years and use it as main utility paying account.

I have yet to receive even a second e-mail!

Not among the called and the chosen...:)

Today is the third working day - if nothing by Monday, I'll send a complaint via secure message.
