I applied at 11.30, confirmed two hours later.

    However
, OH (at 15.50) had to leave the middle name box blank to proceed.
  • I created an account via my laptop just over and hour ago and it was fine.

Note that they do need to verify your address before you can log in to check balance etc:

In the next 7 days we will send you 2 letters which you need in addition to your ID above:
    • One letter provides a temporary Password
    • The other letter provides a temporary Security Number

    Mine worked fine earlier today.
    Hi,
can you transfer from the 1.85% Isa account?

As it's not an ISA you'll need to close the ISA and transfer the money out. Or just withdraw however much you want to move over if you want some left there.
Remember the saying: if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.
  • I signed up yesterday, and got email within minutes saying the account was set up, with account number so I can put money into it, but ...
'something' in the details I gave didn't match details they already had about me (I had a savings account with them over 10 years ago). All I can think of is a changed email address or mobile number, or perhaps last time they only knew one of my 2 middle names (because sometimes forms don't give enough space to fill two in). So they asked me to photocopy proof-of-identity documents and post them to them. Which I've done (at least they were clear they didn't want originals, which some unreasonably do demand). Until they've checked that, I don't get the means to sign on and check money has got there (or withdraw it) - so I'm not funding it till I can do that.

Yes that happened to my Mum last night too. I don't understand why because she doesn't nor has ever had any accounts with them before. Unless it's related to she and my dad being on my brother's mortgage with them in the past.
