I asked about this as my last collection is 7am on Saturday, they said it's fine to post the evening before although last Saturday I quite liked being up and out at 6.15.savergrant said:
The app allows it....but you need to justify yourself for not posting on the right day.HonestJohn said:
It is my understanding that the really early collections are done by the local postman on his deliveries. The time means nothing. I refuse to get up early on a Saturday and will do these, in future, the night before as the app now allows this.savergrant said:
I doubt the box gets that much post. There are about six post boxes nearby which have a 9am weekday and 7am Saturday collection so logically I would suggest the same van empties all of them, I'd guess they did that then emptied the 12 noon one. I got the points for the transponder return today. It's still a little surprising that the time on the royal mail website doesn't match the time on the box. That postbox never has the day plate displayed (perhaps it's broken) but this week I've seen a couple saying Monday yesterday and one saying Tuesday today suggesting we have some very confused postal workers.MikeyPGT said:
The collection times shown are supposed to be the last collection time - it is possible that there are other collections during the day ...I had a bundle to post on Saturday, all the local postboxes bar one are 7am collection so walked to the one near the shops. RM website says 12:30 but label on the box says 12 noon. Got there at 10:45 just in time to see a red van pull away. No day plate in the space. I also sent back a transponder envelope and haven't got my ten points yet. Luckily I verified my location for the bundle.0 -
Try it, for me it was more of a nuisance answering the 'why are you posting on a different day?' questions than just walking a couple of hundred yards to the one outside the post office. On a weekday I usually go past three postboxes before their 9am collection time.t0rt0ise said:

Is anyone else getting more items queried lately? The last five test letters I've had have all had queries on the date received.2

No. Obviously a problem with your depot not delivering quickly. Probably short staffed.savergrant said:Is anyone else getting more items queried lately? The last five test letters I've had have all had queries on the date received.0 -
Yes, I'm also getting everything queried.savergrant said:Is anyone else getting more items queried lately? The last five test letters I've had have all had queries on the date received.0 -

All the standard mailmark letters I've received recently have all been £1.67 which isn't a suggested postage amount so have gone the "other" route but I've never been asked to scan the QRThere are 10 types of people in the world. ‹(•¿•)›(11)A104.28S94.98O112.46N86.73D101.02(12)J130.63F126.76M134.38A200.98M156.30J95.56J102.85A175.93

I seem to remember Spectos saying we would sometimes be asked to scan the QR codes on stampsLearn from yesterday, live for today, hope for tomorrow. The important thing is not to stop questioning. Albert Einstein0
