3 scenarios:
1. It is connected to spectos and they reimburse me. Neutral, other than inconvenience.
2. It's mail that I have no interest in paying to receive. I lose.
3. It's mail I want. In this scenario it can go back to sender and they can send again with the correct postage.
For those saying pay with stamps, I have 1st class (£1.35) and large first class (£2.10). I don't have a combination that reaches £1.50. I'm not going to waste a more expensive stamp to be reimbursed £1.50.Exactly. I use all my 1st Class letter stamps myself anyway, I don't really want them "cashed out". Nor do I want to waste them if it turns out the item isn't from Spectos. If the sender hasn't bothered to pay the correct postage I probably don't want it anyway, and if I do they can sort it out!HonestJohn said:Just buy 15p in stamps from a PO. Stick them on the card and the PO will redeliver.
Then that's 20 minutes in a Post Office queue I didn't want to spend, and possibly for an item I won't even get the money back for and didn't even want.silvercar said:The decision for me is binary - do I collect or not- if they don’t guarantee to pay out, then I have no reason to collect.
Exactly. Spectos should just agree to pay for them regardless whilst we're on the panel. Would make things far simpler and fairer than having to play pot luck with our own money.0 -

But I’m still really not understanding why you think Spectos should pay for parcels that may not be theirs? Just because you’re on the panel doesn’t mean they get to cover all your costs for things that are nothing to do with them. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

On 30th May I redeemed 2,500 points for a £25 Marks & Spencer gift card. This afternoon (15/6/24) I tried to use the card, to be told that there was a NIL balance.
The sales assistant at M & S told me he'd experienced a similar thing. He had a gaming gift card and when he tried to use it, found that someone had cloned the card and used the credit.
I rang M & S Head Office and they confirmed it - I have a NIL balance.
Has this happened to anyone before and offer advice on how best to proceed please?
Many thanks for any replies. x.0 -

Hi, yes, it was used on 28th February, which would coincide with my redemption of points on 24th February.
M & S say 28th Feb is the last transaction showing on their screen and as far as they can see, no gift card has been issued by them since 28th February. I have proof on my Spectos account - I redeemed a further 2,500 points on 30th May.0 -
Sorry, forgot to add, it was used at the M & S nearest to where I live.0

Many thanks for reply.
I have only one gift card in my M & S wallet and it is showing the number of the card I used in February, with a NIL balance. I used up all the credit in Feb, but then cashed in 2,500 points with Spectos about 2/3 weeks ago and got my electronic gift card, making me £25 in credit at the end of May/beginning of June.
The Helpline operator said that as far as she could see on her screen, the card I tried to use today was the card I'd already used in FEB, and therefore showing a NIL balance, with no further transactions on my account.
It's very strange, I think I will have to try to speak to Spectos - either that or write my £25 off, which I am loathe to do.
Just a thought......could it be a computer error/glitch in the software?
Thanks all. x0 -
Looks likle you may have got the cards mixed up. Find the email for the latest one and click on the link to it. See what the value is.Learn from yesterday, live for today, hope for tomorrow. The important thing is not to stop questioning. Albert Einstein1
