Thanks for suggestion. It turned up that royal mail was the cheapest with parcelforce 48 for £12.99 so thought i'd post it to save anyone else time who has a large parcel like this.

You can get parcelforce 24hr here Express Packages Deliveries for £8.99.

Can anyone advise me about, better still recommend, a good courier service for transporting a computer, and which is also flexible about the collection time.

Please may I have a recommendation for a low cost way to send a parcel weighing under 1.5 kilos to Australia. Dims are 42 X 31 X 17.

you won't be able to have any flexibility. Only options our to get to know your driver and agree on a place to leave the parcel (eg. porch), drop it off at the depot your self, or use a work address?

Can use parcelforce and drop it off at the PO (i think), but that's about £14.

Anything 2KG and under RM Airmail is the cheapest.
