  • Anyone else had an email from uk courier express offering a discount?
I've just got one and they are offering discounts for all ebay users and website users.
It looks quite good but DPD would be better if and when they start trading again.

    I'm quite annoyed with DPD.
I enquired about an account last Monday & they replied with 'we'll see how you perform over the next two weeks'
I then read on here that they were closed for 2-3 weeks so I contacted them again and they said they were closed until the 20th of June.

I logged in yesterday to see a sign saying that they are closed until the 27th of June.

I like to plan ahead, does anyone know if DPD WILL be up and running again next week or will there be another weeks delay

That same thought crossed my mind too.
It has to be something more than a postcode error (as stated in a previous post)
Let's face it, DPD are losing loads of business for what in my opinion is either a loss of their contract with PF or they just decided to take a holiday which you just can't do in that line of business :(

less likely to be stacked and are very strong

GREAT idea for the larger ones, thanks! - now I just need to find a supplier of different size strong cardboard tubes! :D

    Hi guys,

I am trying to find the cheapest PF service that's currently available. I was going to use DPD but I can't wait until 27th June.

I wanted to use PF because they normally accept sizes up to 1.5m in length. Just checked the T&C's for Express Packages Deliveries and it says

"….please do not try to send oversized parcels (bigger than 1.2mx.8mx.8m)"

Whats going on? Does EPD not use PF anymore?

Thanks guys just 2 more questions ...

Does it matter how the package is wrapped when using professional courier such as DHL? Or does it have to be in a regular box? I'm trying to get away with putting 2 oddly shaped boxed items into 1 package so I was considering just taping the boxes together and covering with a plastic sheet ... can I get away with such packaging ... ?

What happens if the person is not home when the item is delivered (DHL)?

Having read the entire thread, I have decided to use PPWeXpress and am trying to book them for a home delivery. However I can't get passed the page where you fill in your email address and choose a username - it is reading 'error on page' - anybody have any ideas please?

And is it one price for up to 30kg..it doesn't seem to appear anywhere on the website? Can you phone these people direct and book it or is it online only?

    Thanks.

Doesn't matter how its packed, as long as its well packed (packages are treated with little mercy), and within 120x60x60cm and 31.5kg.

If they're not in they should be 'carded' this will have tracking no and tell them to ring and arrange a suitable time or collection from the depot. They usually will try 3 delivery attempts before returning to sender.

Don't know sorry, try using internet explorer if you're using firefox.

Yes the weights up to either 30 or 31.5kg and dimensions are 120x60x60cm max.

...and yes again, if no luck you can phone them, you'll have plenty of time tomorrow as their cut-off for sameday collection is 12.30pm.
